Well done to Carole Galletly, Carol Gaskins, Caroline Campion, Helen Young and all the Oxfordshire girls for qualifying for Leamington today in the Walker Cup

Well done to our ladies who won all 3 of their games today in the Walker Cup Regionals at Moulden Bowls Club, Bedfordshire. They won 6-2 on all games, securing qualifying for the National Finals.

They have done us all in Oxfordshire proud today with their grit and determination to get over the line.

Another busy week completed on the green.
Last weekend, Central had our first mixed triples league game against West Witney. 3 of the four triples were very close but unfortunately we lost overall. Claiming 3 of the 12 points in the process

Following that, we had a friendly against Kidlington. With each club winning 2 of the 4 triples, Central won overall thanks to a good win of 26-9 for Mike Andrew, Jackie Humphreys and Andy Winter.

Wednesday, the ladies went to Hanborough in the league, unfortunately our ladies fell to their first loss of the season, but still managed to collect 2 of the 10 points on offer thanks to Carol Gaskins rink.

Thursday, the A team had a bye, but the B team were at home to local club Bloxham, Central only lost overall by 2 shots, but claimed 2.5 points for winning 2 of the four rinks and drawing the third

Friday and today saw some county comps played. Both our mens fours lost narrowly in the Quarter finals away at Headington, but both our ladies pairs won their first rounds. Then today saw the men's county two wood. With 6 of our members entered with a total field of 47 from across the county. Stuart made it to the semi final in July after 4 good wins. Will may join him after he plays his Quarter final at a later date

Our first away friendly of the season was at Whitnash yesterday. A club, like us, who have an amazing youth section, and so it was good to see Mason out there playing for us. A future star!

Despite winning on 3 of the 5 triples, Central lost overall 72-77. Top winning triple went to Pam, Bob and AJ 21-14

Another couple of nights of competition have seen many Central bowlers in action

On Thursday, the B team went away to Hanborough and drew 3-3 on points. Glen's rink was the only winning rink at 28-8 and giving Central a narrow 58-57 win
Whereas the A team were at home against Kidlington winning 5-1, unfortunately Mark's rink only losing by 1, so close to a clean sweep.

Last night, both Central's entries were in action in the National Two Fours.
One team was away at neighbours Adderbury, Nigel's rink winning 15-12, but unfortunately Stuart's lost 10-21, giving an overall 25-33 loss
The other team was away at Headington A, a very strong start on both rinks saw Central 17-7 up at 5 ends over both rinks, and that was extended to 27-14 at 10 ends. Central ended up winning 41-31 in the end.

Tuesday night, we hosted our close neighbours Bloxham in a friendly over 6 rinks of triples.
Nice to see the whole green being used so early.
Central ran out 89-71 winners whilst winning 4 of the 6 rinks, with the top rink going to Charles, Bob & Terry winning 17-8
