Marie Ryan Equestrian BHS Performance Coach & Rider. BECC L4 . MSc Professional practice in Sports Coaching She is now involved in coach development for the NDPCE programme.

Marie is a UKCC Level 4 Coach in Eventing and is a BHS Stage5 Performance Coach and Rider. She was selected as one of 8 eventing coaches in the UK to be part of the inaugural National Development Programme for Coaching Excellence 2016/17 to help sustain and grow participation in equestrian sports.. Marie was a Coach for the BE Stepping Stones Pathway aimed at riders wishing to move up to CCI***

arie is a member of the Pony Club Training Committee, a Pony Club Rider Development Pathway (RDP) Assessor/Coach and is a Mentor at the Pony Club Championships. She gives regular clinics in Dressage, SJ and XC along with being available for Private and Group lessons. Marie has helped coach riders onto the GB Pony and YR Eventing Teams. She has produced horses from Novice level - 5* and was on the GB Event Training Squad 2002-08. She has successfully ridden at Badminton, Burghley, Luhmuhlen, Boekelo, Bramham, Blenheim etc...

Marie trained in dressage in Germany to PSG level. Alongside her riding and teaching commitments, Marie has provided commentary at Adelaide International Horse Trials and for the BBC Red Button at Badminton Horse Trials. She currently coaches riders from Grassroots to 5* level. She is also enjoying competing her horse Leo at Advanced Medium level and hoping to step up to Advanced/Inter 1 at the end of 2022. Badminton Week is here!

We have lots of exciting things happening at HTSG 🐎

Course Walks:

Thursday 10:30am with Zara Tindall

Friday 3:00pm with Ginny Elliot

Sunday 10:00am with Spencer Sturmey and Marie Ryan

All course walks will meet outside the HTSG tent and are open to members and non-members. £20 donation to go towards funding our teams!

Cross Country Preview:

The Cross Country Preview is back and this year we have another superb panel.

The event will be hosted by Spencer Sturmey and Marie Ryan. Dickie Waygood, Team GB Technical Director & Eventing Performance Manager, will be opening the preview evening, to explain the importance of the Horse Trials Support Group and our fund-raising efforts. Dickie will be joined by Nicola Wilson, Pony Team Trainer.

Our panel guests are Tina Cook, Olympic medallist and TV commentator, William Fox-Pitt, Olympic medallist and multiple five-star winner, and Max Warburton who is competing at Badminton this year.

This is also open to members and non-members and we’d love to see lots of you there as it promises to be a fantastic evening!

It is free for members and £20 for non-members, including a welcome drink 🥂
