We are hosting a Easter Camp on Tuesday 12th, Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th April.

The camp will take place at St.Mary’s School, Hornchurch and will run from 9.30am-3.30pm on each day.

The prices start at £40 for 1 day and £110 for 3 days, payment can be made via childcare vouchers - if this is your preferred method of payment please email [email protected]

We are looking to recruit an After School Club Leader - please see information below.

You will deliver quality childcare provision for children aged 4-11 years old in a range of enjoyable activities including games, crafts, sports, homework club and free play, supervising them to ensure safe use of equipment.

This may involve working with children that require special attention and/or will have come from various racial, cultural and religious backgrounds. Main areas of responsibility will include;

- The day-to-day management of the setting.
- To take specific responsibility for the management, organisation and running of the After School Club Provision, to ensure that parents and carers are provided with high quality childcare for their children.
- To maintain a safe, creative and stimulating environment for children's play experiences.
- To prepare the planning of a programme of activities designed to meet the needs of the children. To manage and organise the After School Club Provision, including managing the deputy and assistants.
- To ensure that responsibilities and duties are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety, Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and within the Equal Opportunities framework.
- To ensure all policies are kept up to date and adhered to.
- To establish and maintain positive relationships with children and their families in a way that values parental involvement.
- To observe and assess children’s development and keep accurate records of their achievements.
- To provide a service that respects children’s life experiences and celebrates diversity in terms of language, culture, ability, race and religion.
- To be jointly responsible for the setting resources and report loss/damage or low stock levels to the relevant staff.
- To work with the After School Club Senior Leader to organise regular team meetings in order to discuss and assess progress and any issues.
- To ensure that all children are registered and remain on the premises at all times except during organised trips and outings or by special arrangement with the parent/carer, e.g. on trips and outings children are still the responsibility of the After School Club Leader/Deputy and a register must be kept with you.
- To form and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children, young people, staff, volunteers, parents and carers.
- To provide a creative programme of arts, crafts, games, sports, drama, music, off-site activities relevant to the needs and interests of all children, regardless of their race, religion, culture or language, physical or mental ability.
- To be responsible for Health and Safety issues at the after school club with regard to clearing, setting up and running activities – both indoor and outdoor, trips, outings and general risk assessment.
- To attend weekly team meetings as instructed by the After School Club Senior Leader to discuss and assess progress and any issues.
- To carry out financial and administrative tasks as directed by the After School Club Senior Leader, such as petty cash, registering children, parental forms etc.
- To participate in training if instructed to do so by the After School Club Senior Leader.
- To keep the building and areas of use, including toilets, clean, tidy and accessible — i.e. clearing up properly at the end of and during each session.
- To follow first aid procedures including keeping records of all accidents and the treatments given.

The below qualifications and experience will be required in order to be considered for this role;

* NVQ Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline;
* Good numeracy/literacy skills
* Appropriate knowledge of first aid
* A willingness to undertake further training, if necessary, to meet the needs of the students
* Experience in a similar role or working within a school setting
* Experience of supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
* Management experience is desirable but not essential

This role will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check. You must be eligible to work in the UK.
