🎉 LEGSUK IS 9 TODAY! 🎉
Nine years ago, LEGSUK started with one simple idea…
One suggestion put out into the ether to see if there were other community ladies who wanted to connect.
There were.
Alison has been with us from the very beginning, shortly followed by Vicky, Belinda, Rachael, Jeanne and so many others who joined us during those first few months in 2017 and early 2018, of course many more have joined us since.
And look where that one idea has taken us. ❤️
We’ve grown, evolved and started our journey towards becoming a national community — although we know that journey is still very much in its infancy in some areas.
And that’s where YOU come in.
Whether your area already has a thriving community or is only just getting started… whether you have regular meet-ups or only the occasional get-together… whether you prefer online connections, coffee and a chat, a walk, lunch, a quiz night, or simply meeting another community lady for the first time…
September is the perfect time to make something happen.
☕ Suggest a coffee.
🥪 Arrange a bite to eat.
🚶♀️ Organise a gentle walk or wheel.
🧠 Get a quiz team together.
🎉 Suggest a local activity or event.
💬 Start a conversation in your area WhatsApp group.
You don’t need to wait for somebody else to organise it.
You don’t need to have a committee, a venue or a grand plan.
Sometimes all it takes is:
“Anyone fancy meeting up?”
That’s how LEGSUK began.
And LEGSUK has created the platform for you to do exactly the same in your own area.
Our community WhatsApp groups are there to help you connect with lipoedema ladies nearby, share ideas and turn those “we should do that sometime” conversations into “shall we do it?”
And if you have an event or activity planned, we’re here to help you promote it too — because the more people who know about it, the more chance there is of others joining you.

This is also open to third-party lipoedema charities, clubs and organisations, so if you know of something our community should hear about, please encourage them to submit it too.

It’s much more than an events calendar.
It’s a growing collection of resources, information, signposting and practical support, alongside our community areas and events — with new things being added all the time.
We’re building it to help make Lipoedema Life Easier and to bring our community together.
Because ultimately…
TOGETHER WE’RE STRONGER.
So on our 9th anniversary, here’s our challenge to you:
Don’t just wait for your area to grow.
Help it grow.
Take that leap of faith.
Put an idea out there.
Ask the question.
Suggest the meet-up.
Start the conversation.
You never know where that one little suggestion might lead.
After all…
