A visit to Molland Ridge Stud and Rehabilitation yesterday to see Sarah Coward Shields Narkos De Maine ‘Eric’. He’s a big lad already over 16.2. When you think he’s only just turned 3. 😀. His full brother the late Happy Day Emery had so much talent, and I’m looking forward to seeing his full sister Merveille de Maine making her debut in the conning months in France for her breeder Thierry Desgranges. Valentin de Maine and Artaban are also his siblings Jess and the team are doing a great job with Eric and there’s so much to look forward to with this very special lad.

Been a tough week at the Goffs Arkle Sale with gorgeous quality youngsters commanding high prices but after a number of attempts managed to secure a stunning lad to be trained by Bea Coward for a new partnership. Big thank you to Sarah Coward Shields and Catherine Mitchell who were a brilliant help in keeping all my lists in order with such a large number of horses to view 😆.

Lot 343 by the exciting young Coolmore stallion In Swoop with his first crop of 3 year olds this year being well received, this stunning boy who was 25k as a foal is out of Blossom Trix - his 5 winning siblings include the high class Ashtown Lad and Beg to Differ.

No mistaking this stunning lad is by his sire, who I loved when seeing him at The Beeches in January. So many similarities in his flashy good looks and conformation. Thrilled to have been able to secure him for the boys. Exciting times ahead.

A lovely evening spent with Neil Tucker and Wendy at Warwick last night to watch their boy Modern Style ‘Frankie’ trained by Nigel Hawke run. With James Best on board he put in another admirable performance up in grade for a podium place in 3rd this time beaten 4 lengths. Frankie’s developing into a really consistent performer and has a great attitude, always giving his best.

BRATTON DOWN SUNDAY 31st MAY ABANDONED

The Tiverton Staghounds fixture, scheduled for Sunday 31st May at Bratton Down, has been abandoned.

After a further course inspection the committee has made the early decision to abandon the meeting.

The ground is currently firm, and with no rain forecast ahead of the meeting the team have decided the sensible option is to abandon.
