This might sound a bit controversial… but I see this all the time.

Parents of ADHD children spending hours searching for the next strategy, the next tool, the next “answer”.

But often it’s not more information that changes things.

It’s you!

Because when you are constantly in stress mode, even the best parenting strategies don’t land the way you want them to.

What actually helps isn’t more to do.

It’s more space for you.

A few minutes to come back into your body.
To soften the tension.
To reset your nervous system.

That’s where everything changes

This isn’t about having it all together.

Parenting a neurodivergent child can feel constant;
mentally, emotionally, physically.

But I’ve learned this:
🌿 Movement shifts something
💛 Big, dynamic movement helps release the stress
✨ Even a few minutes can change how I feel

This is why I’m creating something to support other parents like this 💜

You’re not alone in this. 🌿

Meltdowns are hard — and I was often left fizzing, constantly on edge.
I was becoming a shouty mum 😝 — and we know that’s the worst thing when you have an ADHD child!

Parenting a child with ADHD can feel exhausting:
• Constantly on edge 😣
• Exhausted from repeated meltdowns 😓
• Reacting instead of responding ⚡

You’re not alone — and it’s not because you’re doing anything “wrong.”

Research shows the biggest stress often comes from daily parent–child interactions, not just ADHD symptoms.
That stress can affect both your wellbeing and your child’s outcomes:
• Gordon & Hinshaw (2016)
• Theule et al. (2013)

What worked for me? Movement — not just breathing!
Strong movement like Pilates, running, or lifting weights helped me reset my nervous system and parent with calm strength 🧘‍♀️💪

The EASIEST Slow Cooker Whole Chicken Recipe 🐔

Perfect if life feels busy (or chaotic) and you still want a proper meal on the table.

Throw this in the slow cooker in the morning and forget about it:

• Onion in the bottom (I use frozen)
• 2 chicken or vegetable stock cubes
• 1 lemon, halved
• Whole chicken on top
• Stuff the another halved lemon inside
• Salt, pepper + any herbs you like

Cook low 6–7 hrs or high 3–4 hrs.

It creates its own delicious broth, feeds us for dinner and there’s usually enough chicken left for lunches the next day.

Simple food for busy families.

Let me know if you try it!

Post-run reset

A few minutes of mobility and core work to unwind, breathe, and reconnect with my body after a run. Movement doesn’t have to be long or perfect — it just has to happen.

For parents raising ADHD or neurodivergent kids, these small pockets of movement can be powerful. A moment to regulate your nervous system, release tension, and refill your cup so you can keep showing up.

05/03/2026

When you’re parenting a neurodivergent child, the emotions aren’t small.

They’re big. Fast. Layered.
Love + guilt + frustration + fierce protectiveness + total exhaustion — sometimes all before breakfast.

And when you’re constantly “on”, your body doesn’t just cope… it stores it.

The tight shoulders.
The clenched jaw.
The shallow breathing.
The low-level buzz of adrenaline that never fully switches off.

This is why movement matters.

Not for fitness.
Not for shrinking yourself.
Not for being “better”.

But for regulation.

When you move — whether it’s Pilates, stretching on the floor, a walk round the block, or a few slow mobility drills in the kitchen — you send your nervous system a message:

👉 We are safe.
👉 We can soften.
👉 We don’t have to stay in survival mode.

I help overwhelmed mums of neurodivergent children find a reset through Pilates and mobility, so they can break the cycle of chronic stress and parent with calm strength instead of constant adrenaline.

Movement isn’t selfish.
It’s strategic.

Five minutes counts. 💛

When stress hits, your body craves release. Movement helps:
🌿 Wake up tired muscles
💛 Reset tension in shoulders, back, and hips
✨ Restore energy and focus
You don’t need fancy equipment — just moving in ways that feel powerful and freeing can make a difference.

This week we visited the Lake District — and wow, it completely blew my mind. The dramatic, beautiful scenery was incredible. I know hill walking like this isn’t achievable every day, but it felt amazing achieving some of the Wainwrights!

For parents of neurodivergent children — you’re not alone in this. 🌿

Exploring The Lake District 💜Thanks to for the idea!
So pleased I’m not wading through Oxfordshire MUD. The kids were like mountain goats 😂 G almost ran the whole way while chatting away
