In the UK, 12.5% of men will suffer with mental health problems at some point in their life. That number may sound small, but put another way, that's one in eight.

All To Play For is a football programme for men aged 18+ in Norfolk aiming to help change the harrowing statistics around men's mental health. The free programme, which is operated in several venues across Norfolk, aims to provide a safe space for adult men to talk, play and seek support if they need it.

Since it started up, All To Play For has improved the health and wellbeing of over 500 men in Norfolk - a number we hope to build upon and grow as the programme develops further.

"Never discount yourself out of being able to be active and build it into your day, because there are ways that you can do it, and there are tools and people out there who are keen to support you if you find it difficult."

Our Head of Programmes and Partnerships Ryan had a great discussion on BBC Radio Norfolk last week about how realistic hitting 10,000 steps a day is, particularly for those who struggle with their mobility. During the interview, Ryan highlighted the challenges many face, but also some routes to support for those who need it.

You can watch Ryan's full interview here: https://youtu.be/KhO9BkocOko

Alternatively, if you're looking to start getting more active, why not check out the Every Move Activity Finder: https://everymovenorfolk.activityfinder.net/ - with hundreds of activities uploaded, and some exciting updates coming very soon, it's a good platform to keep your eye on this summer!

Inclusive sport starts with welcoming environments. Today's spotlight celebrates the work of Sport Welfare Officers in creating welcoming and inclusive clubs for everyone feels safe and welcome, regardless of age, background, or ability.

Creating a safe, welcoming environment helps your club thrive:

Members feel valued and supported
Parents have confidence in your club
Volunteers feel more capable and confident

Clubs that prioritise welfare build stronger communities and better experiences for everyone involved. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™ve created a Spond group to connect clubs across the county who are open-minded and committed to learning more about and improving their safeguarding and welfare practices.

Pledge your commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive club environment. Join the community today: bit.ly/4sBWAEa?r=qr
