Hands up - who remembers this absolute garage banger!?

I was obsessed with this song when I was younger - as soon as the bings bings bings at the start I was already doing my 2 step!

This is a little snip of my first take at a garage Queen song - My love ❤️

Well I dont know what’s happening but the songs are just falling out of me this weekend - here’s a little cover of a beautiful classic R&B soulful number called Sweet Love by Anita Barker. Does anyone remember this song? Let me know what you think in the comments 🙏

Even just singing this song I feel I was falling in love ❤️🎙️ it’s giving first dance wedding vibes 😍

Hope you like it 🫶🏻

I felt really inspired by last night - as a millennial I was in my absolute element as they hit all the nostalgia - so I thought I’d cover a sassy R&B number myself - here’s an acoustic version of Bust your windows by jasmine sullivan - im feeling like adding some R&B into my sets and broadening my brand a bit - what does everyone think? Have I got a voice for R&B? What songs would you recommend? Comment or DM 🫶🏻

Part of being a singer is spontaneously breaking out into song for no reason at all at home/in the car - it’s where we get most of our ideas for songs! I couldn’t get this one out of my head since I added it to my reel the other day so thought I’d give a sneaky glimpse behind the scenes of a singers day to day …

A quick belt of Portishead - Glory box - and I was relaxed for the rest of the afternoon - singing is good for the soul - belt it out and be free 🎶

Who doesn’t love the sound of a sexy sax in a song - this one has me vibing every time - Dusty Springfields ‘Spooky’ 👻

Released in 1968 it was never meant to be a lyrical song - written for sax alone originally. For my millennials you might recognise it from that famous Guy Ritchie movie ‘Lock Stock and two smoking barrels’… this song always gets the toes tapping in the audience

When you get feedback like this 🫶🏻❤️ - this is why I’ve always love singing - it’s the emotional responses it engines and the environment the music creates. Performing a set is more than whacking a few songs together and a nice dress on - it’s about creating an experience for those around you.
I just wish I could do this full time… maybe one day … 🤞🏼

My next appearance@this month is at Lincoln Jazz Café - Award Winning Cocktail / W**e Bar with Jazz on Friday 21st August. Come and see me live - all that’s required is to book a table 🫶🏻

Giving you the full version of ‘what a difference a day makes’ by Dinah Washington, a true jazz diva who recorded this song in 1959.

What I only recently learned though was that this song was originally a classical Spanish song and was written in 1934 by Maria Grever. I even found the original on Spotify - it’s called “Cuando vuelva a tu lado”
