Its great when you get to see the benefits of the groundwork come summer time.
Brownies Bough was a big project during the winter. A shot missed right used to mean one thing, lost ball, no question. The bank was overgrown with willow bushes and there was simply no recovering from it. The team removed the willows, smoothed the entire bank and returfed it from scratch. It was a major undertaking, but seeing it now makes every hour worth it.
Keeping banks like this maintained is where our new Ventrac comes in. It gets onto steep slopes that we couldn't reach before, and it's already making a huge difference, not just on Brownies Bough but on Walker's Gully too, another notorious ball swallower! The banks are cleaner, tidier, and your ball actually has a chance of staying in play.
These are the kind of improvements that change how the course plays, and the team are proud to keep imrpoving the course for your enjoyment.

What a difference a week makes! The weather has flipped from hot and dry to wet and warm, and with it the challenge for our Greenkeeping team has completely changed.
A few days ago the battle was keeping the turf alive in the heat. Now the warm rain has triggered rapid growth across the entire course and the rough is getting away from us quickly. It's a race to stay on top of it, and right now that means all hands on mowing, cutting back and keeping the course playable before the growth takes over.
It's relentless — just when you get one challenge under control, the weather throws you another. The team don't get a break, they just switch gear and go again.
