Barcelona asked Robert Lewandowski to stop scoring goals near the end of the 2022/23 season.

According to a newly released Robert Lewandowski biography, after Barcelona had already secured the 2022/23 league title, the club asked him not to score in the final two matches.

Lewandowski was initially shocked but later understood that Barcelona would have had to pay Bayern additional bonus fees related to his transfer if he kept scoring.

He ultimately did not score in those last two games and finished the La Liga season with 23 goals.
