Today, Pepper turns 8 šŸ¾šŸŽˆ

In recognition of her long service, she has officially been promoted to Head of Client Welfare at Fit4Life Studios.

Over the years she has demonstrated:
• exceptional enthusiasm towards everybody entering the building
• advanced tail wagging capabilities
• strong observational skills
• emotional sensitivity to client needs
• and selective presentation of Bugsy to individuals she deems worthy (otherwise it may be a noseless moose or a slightly damp pigeon)

Following this announcement, Ivy will now progress from Apprentice Meeter & Greeter to fully fledged Meeter & Greeter.

Both employees remain entirely unaware of these developments.

I’m not entirely sure what Pepper is trying to tell us here…

…but Bank Holiday Monday progress tracking suggests that Partridge may have had a big weekend.

He appears to be carrying a little extra fluff.

Don’t worry though - warmer weather and a few extra scoops usually means it’s probably just water weight 😜

Some people talk themselves out of challenges before they’ve even begun. Jen does the opposite.

Twice now she has told me something she wanted to do… and twice my first response has been:

ā€œAre you sure?ā€ šŸ˜…

First, going from a novice cyclist on flat pedals to completing RideLondon; her first ever century ride, within the same year.

Then, deciding that her 50th year would include completing the Manchester Marathon…also something VERY out of her comfort zone!

And when Jen decides something matters? She gets to work.

With positivity, courage, curiosity, consistency, and above all else - a willingness to learn whatever is needed.

But this marathon build wasn’t plain sailing.

In the five weeks leading into race day, such a key part of any training plan, Jen was unwell and faced real disruption. This is where her mindset stood out even more. She said to me only 2 weeks before the marathon that she simply wanted to get to the start line.

That perspective says everything.

Because sometimes the real growth isn’t in race day itself, but in the training, the setbacks, the adjustments.

In refusing to give up when things don’t go perfectly. That’s what makes Jen so impressive. Not just the events she completes…(although - I mean 😳), but the mindset she brings to them.

Jen is proof that incredible things happen when belief is backed up by action.

So proud of you Jen šŸ’›

Honestly… at this point I’m learning never to ask ā€œare you sure?ā€ ever again! šŸ˜‚šŸ”„

Clare joined Fit4Life in November after running a half marathon that left her feeling physically broken…with a full marathon still ahead.

She didn’t need more pressure or a generic plan - she needed to understand
– how to fuel properly
– how to build strength alongside a demanding running plan and shift work
– how to feel confident in the gym again

So that’s where we started.

We built things from the ground up - starting with her everyday nutrition, before gradually dialling in her pre-, during and post-run fuelling. There was no ā€œperfect planā€. It was trial and error - learning what worked for her, adjusting, and building confidence along the way.

Clare came into this with a real drive to feel better by the time marathon day arrived - and she applied everything we worked on throughout. That’s where this result came from.

Fast forward a few months.

āž”ļø First ever marathon — done
āž”ļø 4:06 finish time — wowzers
āž”ļø Strong, fuelled, and in control throughout (she even mowed the lawn the following day!!!)

Clare didn’t just get results, she understands how she got them, with applied learning every step of the way.

ā€œWhat I’ve learnt has been invaluable — this isn’t a quick 12 week plan.ā€

And that’s exactly it. This hasn’t been about short-term fixes.
It’s been about building something that lasts.

Clare has decided to continue for the foreseeable… and I honestly can’t wait to see what she does next.

This girl is on fire šŸ”„

So proud of you Clare šŸ’›

Fit4Life… in the wild.

This is Clare and Jen.

They’d never met before.

But at breakfast the morning after the Manchester Marathon, Clare spotted Jen’s Fit4Life hoodie… and instantly felt a sense of belonging.

That’s not coincidence.

That’s community.

This is what Fit4Life is.

You don’t just train here… you become part of something.

I’m incredibly proud of what these ladies have achieved - and then to find each other the morning after such a huge event at breakfast was just the perfect icing on the cake šŸ’›

I’m also assured that they ate ALL the protein 🤪

A plan is easy to write.

Following it consistently? That’s where things usually break down.

Not because people are lazy, but because life gets in the way.
Energy dips or doubt creeps in.

That’s the part we work on.

Not just what you do in the session —
but how you keep going outside of it.

Because that’s what actually changes things.

A little more about how things actually look at Fit4Life…

Life doesn’t pause just because you’re trying to look after yourself.

Work gets busy.
Weekends happen.
Energy dips.
Plans don’t always go the way you expected.

That’s not you doing it wrong - that’s just life.

Coaching isn’t about avoiding those moments.

It’s about learning how to keep things moving around them.

A little insight into how things work at Fit4Life.

It’s not perfect weeks every week.

Some weeks feel great — you’re consistent, training well, everything clicks.

Other weeks feel a bit all over the place — life’s busy, energy’s low, things don’t quite go to plan.

Both are completely normal.

And both are part of the process.

You don’t need a perfect run of weeks to make progress.

You just need to keep showing up — just as you are.

(For example — this week I’ve mostly been fuelled by coffee and a man-sized box of tissues 🤧)

Fit4Life’s Meeter & Greeter Apprentice turns four today.

Pepper remains Head of Department -
Her approach to the role is selective.
She may arrive with a stuffed toy.
She may simply observe from a distance.

Ivy has developed a very different strategy in her 4 years of service.

1. Roll onto back.
2. Present belly.
3. Wait (in)patiently for rubs.
4. If the rub doesn’t arrive promptly - paw client.

So far, results have been extremely positive and client retention remains high.

Gym access: still denied.
Promotion status: still under review.

Pepper has been asked to continue to monitor progress.

Happy 4th Birthday Schmive šŸ’›
