🍊 Break a Myth: “Juice and whole fruit do the same thing!”
Spoiler: they don’t — and that’s why both can fit beautifully into family life.

🍎 Whole fruit is your everyday hero
Whole fruit brings the fibre that keeps everyone fuller for longer, slows down sugar release, and gives steadier energy. It’s the kind of snack that actually holds you through the morning or keeps kids going after school.
- More fibre = fewer sugar spikes
- More vitamins and antioxidants
- More fullness and better digestion

🍹 Juice has its moment too
Juice can absolutely be part of the picture — it just plays a different role. Think of it as a fun treat or a little flavour boost, not a straight swap for fruit.
A simple family-friendly trick: dilute juice with water. You keep the taste, but soften the sugar hit so little (and big!) bodies avoid those quick spikes and crashes.
- Half juice, half water = happy taste + steadier energy
- Great for breakfast or a fun moment, not for filling tummies

🍊 The sweet spot
Whole fruit = best choice for steady energy and fullness.
Juice = best choice for flavour, hydration encouragement, or a quick boost
Both belong — just in different ways.

Balanced eating doesn’t have to be complicated.

The Plate Method is one of the simplest visual tools to build nourishing meals — for you and your children — without weighing, tracking, or stressing.

🥦 ½ veggies or fruit
🍚 ¼ grains or starch
🍗 ¼ protein
🥑 Add a little healthy fat

That’s it.

And the best part?
It works with whatever you have at hand.

Leftover roast chicken, frozen peas and rice? ✔️
Scrambled eggs, toast, and the fruit your kids didn’t finish at breakfast? ✔️
Random bits from the fridge on a busy day? ✔️

It’s flexible.
It’s forgiving.
It fits real life.

Small structure.
Big impact.
Zero pressure. 💛

What leftovers are in your fridge today? 👇
Let’s turn them into something balanced.

I couldn’t believe it — my daughter actually ate cabbage. 🥟

She came home from school, bouncing with excitement:
“Guess what we made today, Mummy?”

I smiled and asked, “What did you make?”

“Chinese dumplings!” she said, practically sparkling.

I chuckled, “And… did you eat them?”

She looked at me like it was the most normal thing in the world:
“Of course. I ate them.”

Curious, I asked what was inside.

“Carrot… and cabbage.”

Cabbage.
The very same cabbage she’s refused ever since she first saw it.

And yet, she ate it. Happily.
Without any pressure, surrounded by friends, in a fun, playful environment.

That’s when it really hit me: wonderful things happen when there’s zero pressure.
When kids feel included, curious, and free to explore… magic can happen at the table. 💛

This is why I started Happy Helen Healthy Eating.
I want to help children discover healthy food in their own way — through cooking together, exploring flavors, and learning without stress or force.

Sometimes, it’s not about “getting them to eat.”
It’s about creating the space where they choose to discover for themselves. 🌱

Has your child ever surprised you with a food they suddenly loved — just because there was no pressure? I’d love to hear your story 👇

Feeding a family is hard — you’re not alone.
Welcome to Happy Hellen and Full Tummies, Happy Parents — I’m Corina.
Even though I’m a certified nutritionist and nutrition coach, becoming a mum showed me how challenging healthy choices can be.
Some days I get it right, some days I don’t — and that’s alright.
Most of the things that truly help, I learned the hard way…
or from other parents who were kind enough to share their tips.
Every family is different, and “healthy” can look different too.
But a little inspiration never hurt anyone — and that’s what this page is here to offer.

Here, you’ll find:
• simple food tips
• low‑waste ideas
• calmer‑day systems
• honest parenting moments

All the small lifesavers that make feeding tiny tummies feel easier.
My hope is to build the village we all need while raising our kids.
If you’d like to be part of it, join our group and share the tricks, shortcuts, and small wins that help you feed your family with less stress.
Your idea might be exactly what another parent needs today.
So tell me — what’s the tiny tweak that makes dinner time less stressful in your home?

Here’s to full tummies and calmer days.

Our body is designed to act as a furnace burning wood for energy. but the technology behind the proper functioning of this furnace is carefully managed by none other than the brain. HERE is where all diets fail, in the head , not in the plate. Check out the amazing speech of neuroscientist Sandra Aamodt :

Big results often call for big changes, and those changes often ask for high effort.

Still, who is to say that all effort needs to be put at once? Small tactical changes can, in the end, take form of the big one, without draining energy and building frustration.

Celebrating small victories sets the base of a healthy sustainable lifestyle that is the key to living a long happy life.
