Hello from a very sunny England ☀️

The weather is finally treating us well and it genuinely feels like summer has arrived!

Today was also a special Sunday for us as we completed our first coaching session with our club coach Lizi Brooke . We met at Richmond Park and spent two hours practising, learning and building confidence on the bike. Of course, there was also time for a coffee stop and a good catch up afterwards ☕🚴

We also had plenty of club rides out today across G3, G4 and G5+ groups, with G5+ bringing the faster training pace.

If you are looking for a fast growing social cycling club with plenty of club rides, while also keeping performance and structured training in mind, visit our website and join us today.

Happy May the 4th, Surrey cyclists!

A long bank holiday weekend, beautiful weather and Surrey roads. Hopefully you made the most of it, because the Legs of Steel event on Saturday isn’t going to ride itself.

What a weekend it’s been though. Groups upon groups have been rolling out of Weybridge, clocking up miles and miles on the weekly leaderboard. From our regular club rides heading off in every direction imaginable, to gravel adventures down to Brighton and beyond, the turnouts have been honestly unbelievable. Week on week, Surrey Cycling Club members continue to show up and show out. Massive kudos to every single one of you! 👍🏻👏🏻

And if you thought the weekend was good, wait until you see this week. We have rides posted every single day, yes, every single day this week!

This Saturday we have our Legs of Steel club event, where approximately 30 to 50 riders will roll out together into the Surrey Hills and take on some of the county’s most iconic climbs. Sunday will be the recovery ride. You’ll have earned it.

From regular club rides to weekly evening rides and early morning breakfast rides, there truly is something for everyone. Different pace groups, riders of all ages, all riding together as one team. It’s what we’re about.

Fancy coming along and seeing for yourself? Request a demo ride and come join us. We promise the hills are worth every pedal stroke.

What a glorious day! ☀️

Our HQ in has been absolutely buzzing lately. On any given weekend, we’re seeing 6, 7 or 9 groups rolling out in all sorts of directions. Surrey Hills, Kent, south, east... you name it, we’re covering it.

But the big news? Gravel is having a moment. We’ve noticed a real appetite for gravel riding growing among our members and honestly, it’s brilliant to see. Gravel, loose surfaces and questionable life choices... we love it 😅

Today we had 9 groups head out, including 2 dedicated gravel groups. Safe to say the legs were well and truly earned today! 💪🏻

If you’re local to the Weybridge area and fancy riding with a friendly, welcoming people, whether you’re after a fast chain gang or a social spin with a coffee stop, we genuinely have something for everyone. Come see for yourself. Visit our website and attend demo ride 🚀

And for those who missed today, don’t worry. We have two group rides planned tomorrow as well. No excuses. 😄

Also, huge welcome also goes out to all the new members and demo riders who’ve joined us over the last few months. It’s great to have you with us, you’re already part of the growing cycling community!

See you on the road (or the gravel)!

🎄 Hey Surrey Cyclists! Hope you’re gearing up for Christmas and that 2025 has been as brilliant for you as it’s been for us.

Today we had some great rides lined up. Four groups headed out with different paces and destinations, and it was awesome to see so many riders turn up. We even caught a little winter sunshine, never guaranteed in the UK! ☀️

We ran two G5 rides, but with two different vibes: one all about Zone 2 (calm, controlled, and steady), and one “regular” G5 which means yes, it can get fast and spicy at times. Still social, still a club ride… just a touch more intense. 💪

We also had the pleasure of riding with Lizi Brooke - it’s not every day you get a pro joining the club ride at this time of year!

Even better: from 2026 Lizi will be working with Surrey Cycling Club as our official Club Coach. More details coming in our year-end update next week. 🌟

Big welcome to Sam, who joined G5 for his first demo ride, seriously strong rider, and we’re looking forward to having you out again soon!

And a shoutout to our G3 regulars: two groups shared the same route and met up at Pirbright for a stop at The Yurt Cafe. ☕

Judging by the post-ride Strava uploads, everyone had a great day out.

Stay tuned, more updates coming very soon!

🍂 Autumn is well underway and the temperatures are dropping! Despite the cooler weather conditions, we’ve had successful club rides across various places showing our dedication to cycling!

This weekend saw an impressive total of 6 groups out on the roads:

G5 - Tonbridge to Penshurst with a stop at Kingdom Cafe. An epic 136km with 1,600 meters of elevation! 💪

G5 & G4 - Visited Westerham and The Velo Barn. A solid 100km ride with 1,200 meters of elevation!

G3 & G2 - Rode to Maidenhead with a stop at Fernygrove Farm Shop. A nice 86km with 400 meters of elevation!

It’s so nice to see so many groups out despite the conditions! As always, we will continue our cycling adventures throughout autumn, winter and throughout the year. The Surrey Cycling spirit never stops! 🌟

☀️ What a perfect day for our first-ever Tour de Surrey! September 6th blessed us with sunny skies - not too cold, not too hot - just perfect conditions for climbing every major hill in Surrey! 🚴‍♀️

As this is our 5th anniversary month, we celebrated on the saddle by tackling 180km and 2,824m of elevation across Surrey’s finest climbs including Box Hill, Leith Hill, and the brutal Barhatch Lane!

We split ourselves into two groups to keep everyone together and safe. Special welcome to Ross who came all the way from Scotland to join us while visiting the area - what a legend! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We also welcomed Alex, our latest member, to this epic adventure!

The day was absolutely fantastic - we enjoyed each other’s company and supported one another through every climb. The camaraderie was incredible, and seeing everyone push through the tough moments together made it truly special! 💪

Our halfway stop at Clunkerz in Dorking was perfectly timed for refueling and sharing some laughs before the second half. Epic day, epic people, epic memories! 🏆

🚴‍♀️ Hey Surrey Cyclists! There’s been a lot of rides and interesting events happening lately!

As usual, we’re busy with our weekly rides - our groups G3-G6 regularly ride out over weekends, but we’re also having fun with our cheeky chain-gang sessions on Wednesday evenings. They’re quite popular, at times almost 40 people split across different groups and abilities! 💪

We’ve celebrated our Annual BBQ party at Red Lion Shepperton - it was great to see so many members, and it was awesome to catch-up with everyone without helmet and lycra, but cycling chat of course continued! 🍖

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve enjoyed and soaked up sunny rides to Brighton & Back, ride to Devils D**e, and recently to The Archive .works ☀️

Our Annual Isle of Wight ride is approaching fast - we’re expecting over 35 members to take part in this amazing day out! 🏝️

☀️ What a glorious couple of weeks it’s been! The weather has been kind to us Surrey cyclists, and we’ve made the most of every sunny moment! 🚴‍♀️

Our longer adventures took us from Weybridge to Brighton and back - a challenging 180KM journey with over 2000 meters of elevation that tested our legs and rewarded us with coastal views.

We’ve also enjoyed rides to Devils D**e, winding through the South Downs and conquering Ditchling Beacon along the way for the second weekend in the row!

Ditchling Beacon from Ditchling is a climb in the region East Sussex. It is 2.7km long and bridges 169 vertical meters with an average gradient of 6.2 percent. The top of the ascent is located at 228 meters above sea level, offering stunning views that make every push worthwhile! 🏞️

Not forgetting our shorter escapades - perfect for those early risers who set off at 6:30am for brisk non-stop rides, returning just in time for a well-earned breakfast!
