Billy Bonkers! Tee hee!😄

Our Youth Workers from Tyneside Outdoors have taken this out a couple of times to see how it handles, and have a play, on a pump track. It is great fun. Very responsive, owing to it's short wheel-base, and those forks can be very bouncy, if you like that sort of thing. In our humble opinion it would benefit from a pair of smoother tyres, maybe a pair of Schwalbe Billy Bonkers?

However, if those chunky tyres are to do their work best, maybe the bike needs to go back to it's original geared set-up? A good ranged 8-speed cassette and derailleur, would make it usable down, and crucially up, those trails. The single speed set-up is a bit tough on the legs, even just around Temple Park!

Finally, it could maybe do with a respray, if you're precious about looks?

We were out in Temple Park tonight, playing with our bike ramps. We've been trying out a few different variations and options for different ages and abilities and look forward to trying them out at some local events in the near future.

A proper shopper! These bikes are so comfortable to ride, even our Temple Raiders like them, but they won't tell you that if course!

We picked this up yesterday. It's a proper shopper! Huge basket on the front, rear panier rack, step-through frame, 6 gears, and rides like a dream.

We'll have this fixed up and ready for sale in no time. Please call into the shop next week to take a look, or maybe even take it for a test ride.

We know them!! Our friends in Benwell, who we often share activities with.

Please donate online to help our groups get active outdoors.

We're proud of our youth work in Newcastle and South Shields, getting young people to enjoy their outdoor spaces and try new activities. We received an award from the Tyne and Wear High Sherif in March, for our work engaging young people in positive activities.

However, funding to keep our youth work activities going is extremely hard to find, yet we know youth work works!

Our Raiders' leaders, Abbey and Gerard are off on a ride to raise funds for our charity.

While we're used to seeing them both racing BMXs or scaring themselves on mountain bike trails, we're looking forward to seeing them on a couple of old bikes from T O bike. Get them legs going! GEARS! GEARS! USE YOUR GEARS!!!

Something's broken! Not us of course, we're doing great, helping our local community with cost effective reliable repairs and servicing, as well as affordable refurbished bikes for sale. It's called a circular economy, we help the local community and they help us to help more. We support young people who become young volunteers and then become our future staff, who support more young people, who then volunteer... The cycle continues, if you'll pardon the pun.

However, we're in need of a little more help at the moment. Particularly Volunteer Bike Mechanics to help out in the shop. There are other roles too, so if you fancy helping us to help others please call in to the shop, get in touch via our social media pages or website.
