The NCMD you know today is NOT the original organisation from the 1970s.
👤 John Wells — the ONLY remaining founding member and former President/Chairman — now supports and works with the Association for Metal Detecting Sport (AMDS) after being removed in a way that went against the NCMD’s own constitution.
🦠 During Covid, a new group took over the NCMD, ignored the original constitution, and took control of £300,000+.
They then rewrote the rules to suit themselves.

AMDS membership is only £5 a year. There are metal detectorists out there paying considerably more each year for their public liability insurance. Our subscription rate has remained constant since we started in 2020. Please will you copy and share the below bold text to as many social media groups, and individuals using Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X etc., and newsletters as you can. This will help to inform others that enjoy our hobby but are presently unaware of AMDS. Thank you all for your help and continued support.

AMDS membership costs only £5 a year and you can have a digital or printed membership card at no extra costs, and there are many other membership benefits including a £10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance for all metal detecting activities, and the popular free digital AMDS Times Magazine.
