🏆 ULVERSTON CRICKET CLUB END OF SEASON AWARDS NIGHT 2026 🏏

What a fantastic evening celebrating another memorable summer at Ulverston Cricket Club! A massive thank you to everyone who joined us to look back on the season, toast our award winners, and celebrate the incredible effort put in across all our teams.

SEASON ROUND-UP 📝

1st XI: While the final league placing was a little disappointing after losing a few tight games that should have been turned into victories, it has been a huge learning curveThe character and determination shown throughout will serve us brilliantly as we look forward to coming back stronger in 2027!

2nd XI: A truly fantastic campaign! Having entered the division via default and initially targeting simple consolidation, the 2nd XI wildly overachieved to secure a impressive 4th-place finish. A brilliantly successful season for the group!

Development XI: The squad fulfilled its core purpose perfectly this summer—developing and transitioning talented cricketers into senior cricket. The pathway is stronger than ever, setting up Ulverston for a very bright future over the coming years.

We are incredibly fortunate at Ulverston to have so many talented young cricketers who are keen to play, improve, and push themselves at higher levels!

A massive thank you to our 2026 overseas amateur, George Drivas! 🏏🇦🇺

George has been an incredible asset to Ulverston Cricket Club both on and off the field this season.

Off the pitch, his dedication to our junior cricket setup and coaching our young players at Priory Road has made a lasting impact. On the pitch, his performances for the 1st XI have been nothing short of outstanding.

George’s 2026 Season by the Numbers:

🎯 42 Wickets — including stand-out match figures of 5/37, 5/59, and 4/16

🏏 320+ Runs — featuring a brilliant 51

🏆 1st XI Most Wickets

🏆 1st XI Players’ Player of the Year

Taking home two honors at our presentation evening was a fitting end to a remarkable season.

It has been an absolute pleasure having you at the club, George. We wish you a safe journey back home to Australia and the very best of luck with your future in cricket.

The door at Ulverston is always open, and we hope to see you back for another season in the future!

Safe travels and thank you! Up the Kens! 🙌

Summer Junior Competition

With the league and cup fixtures all but over, the U11 and U13 squads have been split into 3 combined squads to play, together with the Rockets, matches every Friday until the end of the season. At stake is a trophy, medals and of course bragging rights !

On a glorious summers evening last night, the Boundary Bashers took on the Dirty Dozen whilst the Rockets played the Creamy Gods (?!). Please note, the boys are entirely responsible for the squad names!

There was a fantastic atmosphere at the club and, as coaches, we were hugely impressed with the skill, energy and competitiveness of all 4 squads.

Boundary Bashers 281 beat the Dirty Dozen 277 in a last over thriller.

Creamy Gods 301 (ish) beat the Rockets 285 in an equally tight game.

This coming Friday Rockets will
play the Boundary Bashers and the Dirty Dozen take on the Creamy Gods.

Players - please let coaches know your availability. Practices continue as usual on Sundays and Thursdays.

Loads more cricket to come !
