We had a big clear out of the store cupboard yesterday. It would be a real shame to throw out these shirts.... in the photo below. There are lots of the orange and blue ones in various sizes (and potentially your number on the back too🙊) and a few of the white ones. Please let us know if you would like one for old time sake or have any ideas what we can do with them to ensure they continue to be loved ❤️

🚨CALLING ALL CLUB MEMBERS TO ATTEND THE AGM🚨

There will be a club AGM held Wednesday 23rd April 2025 at the Sports club(next to the swimming baths)
MEET 6.15 for 6.30pm start…..FOLLOWING that at 7PM there will be the 1ST joint AGM of both clubs in the meeting room across the way at the swimming baths.

EVERYONE IS INVITED TO ATTEND BOTH TO ASK QUESTIONS AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO SUPPORT THE CLUB MOVING FORWARD IN ITS ENDEAVOUR TO PROMOTE HOCKEY & JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT FOR THE FUTURE.

Just a final reminder that tomorrow night we are holding our SEM to vote on the proposal to merge with South Lakes Hockey.

The meeting will be held at the View meeting room (the building behind the tennis courts) at Ulverston leisure centre, 7-8pm.

If you are unable to attend we would still like to know your opinion and you can share that along with any thoughts or questions you would like discussing at the meeting by completing this short form:

Like many other sports teams across the North West Ulverston Hockey Club stood silent today to pay our respects to Poppy Atkinson, her family, friends and teammates.

Ulverston Hockey Club were honoured to give our support to Andy’s Man Club at the weekend.

For many of us, coming together to play hockey with friends and have our team mates to talk to is something we take for granted. However this could be a lifeline for others, a shoulder to lean on can make a huge difference to someone’s mental health.

Andy’s Man Club has created a safe and welcoming environment and space where men are able to talk and connect with others. It’s a completely non-judgmental forum to share experiences, feelings and to enable men to reach out for help if they need it.

We as a club are in no doubt that the work they are doing is vital and has helped a huge amount of the male population up and down the country. We fully support men’s mental health and will continue to promote Andys Man Club Barrow-in-Furness Andys Man Club Ulverston

For our second fixture of the weekend, Ulverston faced a strong Wigton side. Ulverston started positively and passed the ball well. Ulverston had a number of early attacks and won a penalty corner. We were unfortunately able to convert and were then caught on the break, leading to a Wigton goal. Ulverston continued to have positive plays and attacking chances but Wigton scored a second goal from a well rehearsed penalty corner routine.

We are hoping to return strong after a 2 week break where we travel to Penrith on March 1st.

Ulverston were really up for this game having 3 wins on the bounce, confidence was high. Ulverston started really quickly and applied pressure from the starting whistle with some great attacking play going through Katy, Jen H and Flic in the middle of the field. Early on Ulverston had themselves a few chances with successive penalty corners but Lytham’s defence held us at bay. After 35 minutes, Ulverston had a well put together attack down the right side Flic drove through the defence pushing the ball into the D for Rachael Roberts to pick up turn and slot the ball away giving Ulverston the lead.
Second half Ulverston started the same way, with lots of attacking pressure but Lytham has really skilful young players who made some great attacking play into our half. Luckily our defence held strong and tight not letting them have clear chances at goal.
A quick attack down the right side saw Rachael Roberts make a sweet pass across the field to Jen Lysons who picked up the ball perfectly and attacked into the D, unfortunately their player fouled and a penalty flick was awarded. So up steps Flic Coulson who confidently put the ball in the back of the net for an Ulverston 2-0 lead, final whistle came shortly afterwards to give the home team another win.

Big thanks go to Alfie Lawson and Charlie who on the sideline supported and coordinated our changes it’s very much appreciated by all the girls 😁

On Saturday Ulverston travelled to Lancaster for a late push back against Lancaster & Morcambe. Ulverston started slow but managed to hold off a number of attacks. Unfortunately, Ulverston conceded from a well taken penalty corner. Ulverston switched on and began to pass the ball well and after a number of attacks, managed to equalise. Ulverston came out fighting in the second half and kept up the momentum. They managed to score the winner just minutes before the final whistle from a well executed penalty corner. Finishing the game with a 2–1 win.

This week Ulverston host Lytham St Annes on the Saturday and Wigton on the Sunday for a fun filled weekend of hockey, see you there!
