Great day yesterday for the hill race at the Lochbroom & District Sheep Dog Trials. The weather could have been better, but we had ten taking part and will definitely be back in August 2027.

Everyone gave a massive effort and the feedback about the route was excellent.
Congratulations to Adam Underwood for coming overall first, Rachel Urquhart first female , Steve Worlsey and Ros Eatock male and female runners up, and to everyone who took on the challenge and finished with a smile.

Many thanks to marshals Donald, Amanda, Brian, and John. Thanks also to Dundonnell Mountain Rescue for being in attendance. We took £90 in donations which will go towards the proceeds of the day and split between Highland Hospice and LoveOliver Childrens Cancer Charity. Thank You

HILL RACE IS ON

As part of the Lochbroom and District Sheep Dog Trials tomorrow, Saturday 8th August, the hill race is going ahead.
We are hopeful the weather will be reasonably kind, but it will be showery and you are advised to wear trail shoes, bring warm waterproof clothing for afterwards, and take care on the route.

It is all for two very worthy causes, Highland Hospice and LoveOliver Childrens Cancer Charity and the proceeds from the day will be split equally between the two.
Registration open from 11.00 am until 11.45am and race start prompt at 12 noon.
Entry by donation
There is ample parking space, burger van and tent to enjoy hot drinks and homebaking.
Hope to see a good turnout tomorrow

Saturday 8th August Hill Race Marshals wanted 11.00am

If anyone fancies being a marshal, we'd appreciate some help. The hill race (12 noon start) uses the Coffin Road, Inverbroom and is steep, so you'll need to allow time to get to your position and be prepared to be there for about an hour.

The hill race is part of Lochbroom and District Sheep Dog Trials and all proceeds from the day will be split equally between Highland Hospice and LoveOliver Childhood Cancer Charity. There is a burger van and homebaking tent with hot and cold drinks, raffle and auction at 3pm if you wanted to make a day of it.

Please comment or message us if you are feeling energetic
Thank you

We had twelve this morning for the Rhidorroch 5k, and the rain held off to give a decent morning for running. Congratulations to Adam Underwood who finished first and now holds the record for this route, cutting over a minute off the January 2025 fastest of 21.56. Well done to Jen and Robert for their personal bests and to everyone else who finished in very impressive times. Thanks to you all for coming, and for the donations of £51 which we'll put towards organising the Lochbroom 12K Macmillan Fundraiser on Saturday 19th September 2026. More details coming soon
