SATURDAY 13TH JUNE 2026 – INVERLAEL FOREST, LOCHBROOM
For the competitive folk out there who are in it for the personal challenge, here's another reminder of how the Heartbreak Hill Five Hour Challenge fundraiser for Highland Hospice will work.

Starting at 11.00am, complete as many 3.6k laps as you can in the five hour time limit.

The cut off time for beginning a final lap will be 4:59:59 hours and cut off time for final lap completion will be 6:00:00 hours.

6 Laps = Half Marathon
12 Laps = Full Marathon

SATURDAY 13TH JUNE 2026 – INVERLAEL FOREST, LOCHBROOM
Just a quick reminder that our Heartbreak Hill Five Hour Challenge fundraiser for Highland Hospice is open to walkers, as well as runners.
Already we have a lot of people signed up to walk, and if you want to bring your dog you’d be very welcome as long as the dog is kept on a lead at all times.

The event is exactly the same as for runners, complete as many 3.6k laps as you choose in the five hour time limit, starting at 11.00am. You do not need to be on the course for the full five hours. You can do a lap and decide to take a break as there’ll be clear signage to a ‘pitstop’ rest area where the NaeBad Coffee and Cake van will be, and toilets.

To register for the Heartbreak Hill Five Hour Challenge fundraiser for Highland Hospice in Inverlael Forest near Ullapool. Whether you live here or fancy getting a fix of the NW Highlands, we would love to see you on Saturday 13th June.

In the shadow of Heartbreak Hill, where dreams dare and chill.

If you have signed up or are thinking about it why not join us this coming Saturday 30th May for a training run/course recce. The gate will be open so you can drive up to the start. Meet at 10.00am.
Just come along and do as much or as little as you want.
We will provide a description of the route and if you want I can accompany you around,as long as you don't mind a slow pace 😊

Really nice to have some newcomers for the run this morning in Morefield. Welcome to new residents Annie and daughter Emily, Chris on pram duty, and Rob and son Sam up on holiday. Very well done to Steve, and to 12 year old Sam and 7 year old Robbie who are definitely ones to watch in the future.

WHY WE’RE SUPPORTING HIGHLAND HOSPICE
As the only hospice serving adults across the Highlands, their palliative
and end-of-life care services have been a vital source of comfort and
support for patients, their families and our communities since 1987.

An independent charity, they provide home care in a number of locations, allowing people to live at home for longer; their befriending team tackles the loneliness and isolation which often accompanies deteriorating health and is exacerbated in rural and remote areas; and their social work and bereavement services help children and adults to deal with the complexities of their feelings both during their loved one’s illness and afterwards.

Their services are offered free to everyone who needs them, but they are costly to deliver so must raise more than 75% of their income to continue delivering our care.

The ambition at Highland Hospice is to provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time so that everyone living with a life-shortening illness is supported to enjoy the life they have left, cherish the things that matter most to them and die with the dignity they deserve

Morefield Playground, Ullapool IV26 2TU

Laps of 1.3km on familiar woodland and river paths and including a short hill section. Four laps gives a total distance of just over 5k, but do whatever you choose, run or walk. Dog walkers welcome as long as dogs are kept on a lead at all times.

Ullapool Forest Runs is taking part in NatureScot which started today, Monday 18th May and lasts for seven days until Sunday 24 May, so if you are a regular or visiting the area on holiday, please come and join us to get active and enjoy the outdoors.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 24th May.
