The parkrun report we wrote for Belton House this weekend.

A lovely morning at Belton House parkrun this weekend, dry hooray, and the sun even shone a little on the 414 runners who seized the day. Thirty eight of them were first time parkrunners. Welcome to what is now called “parkrun day.”

It was also a sad but special occasion as we celebrated our Angie Emms, who was a regular at Belton House parkrun and who unfortunately passed away in January. Yesterday, we announced that anyone who could make it from the celebrations should join us to run in her memory this morning. It was lovely to see Kev Wallace running in boxing gloves to honour Angie’s legacy of sport and the wonders it does for everyone, and also to see friends experiencing the community for the first time today.

It was also a morning of fantastic efforts, with 57 runners achieving PBs at Belton. Brilliant! And even if, like us, you simply turned up and got it done with a few chatty miles with friends, that is brilliant too.

Belton is a beautiful course, with fantastic chocolate brownies in the café afterwards because we deserve it. Another wonderful Saturday and a lovely way to keep Angie's memory alive in her favourite place to be on a Saturday morning.

Bringing joy, connection, and creativity to hospitals, care homes, and older people in the community this Christmas.

Every Christmas, we deliver Up & Out activity books to hospitals, care homes, and older people in the community - a heartfelt project designed to uplift, engage, and spark joy for those spending the festive season in care homes, hospital, or at home.

Last year, thanks to your generosity, we raised £150 enough to reach care homes and hospital wards across London and the Midlands.

This year, we’re aiming to raise £300, so we can cover even more hospital wards and care homes, spreading that Christmas cheer a little further.

Every penny goes directly toward printing and delivering the books.

For over seven years, Up & Out has been dedicated to supporting the elderly community by promoting connection, choice and active engagement. We've created and donated hundreds of our Up & Out activity books to care homes and hospitals - resources designed to inspire conversation, support meaningful interaction between carers, doctors and residents, and help conquer loneliness.
Our work also encourages movement and independence for older people, helping them stay active for longer, which not only boosts wellbeing but also eases the daily workload on care staff. Through regular visits and continued support, we’re committed to ensuring every older person feels seen, heard and empowered to live life fully.
