Modern life taught us to think of movement as something separate from life.

A workout you schedule.

A class you sign up for.

A step goal you try to hit after the rest of the day has already drained you.

But in the places where people live the longest, movement is rarely treated like a task on a calendar.

It is built into the day itself.

The garden needs tending.
The meal needs preparing.
The neighbor is close enough to visit on foot.
The floor, the stairs, the hillside, the market, the kitchen, and the home all keep the body involved.

This is one of the quiet lessons of Blue Zones.

The world’s longest-living people are not necessarily spending their lives in gyms.

They are living in environments where movement never fully disappeared.

Modern life did the opposite.

It engineered movement out of the day, then told us to fix the problem with 30 minutes of exercise.

You can drive to work, sit through most of the day, sit through meals, sit to answer messages, then sit down at night and call it recovery.

And sometimes, real rest is exactly what you need.

But when sitting becomes the posture of your whole life, more sitting is not always the kind of recovery your body is asking for.

Sometimes your body is asking for circulation.

For sunlight.

For your hips to open.

For your legs to work.

For your muscles to remember they are still needed.

Your biology was not designed for a life where movement became the exception.

It was designed for steady, natural use throughout the day.

The kind that helps support blood sugar after meals.

The kind that keeps joints from stiffening into disuse.

The kind that helps preserve balance, strength, posture, independence, and confidence as you age.

This is why the Blue Zones lesson matters so much.

It does not shame you for missing a workout.

It reminds you that aging well is also shaped by the small physical demands your day still asks of you.

Carrying something.

Walking somewhere.

Reaching, bending, sweeping, gardening, climbing, cooking, standing, stretching, getting up and down.

Not as punishment.

Not as calorie-burning.

Not as another thing to perfect.

As a way of staying in relationship with the body you still live inside.

Because the question is not only:

“Did I exercise today?”

It is also:

“Did my body get to participate in my life today?”

That may be one reason the world’s longest-living cultures age so differently.

They do not move because they are chasing fitness.

They move because life never stopped requiring it.

People will question a hairdresser’s qualifications before they question the qualifications of the person responsible for their body, joints, injuries and health.

That should concern you.

Not all fitness professionals are created equal.
Some spend years studying anatomy, rehabilitation, safeguarding and exercise science.
Others complete a weekend course and start coaching the public on Monday.

And here’s the uncomfortable truth…

Anybody can phone up and obtain basic insurance, but when a serious incident happens and an investigation starts, qualifications, scope of practice, experience and competency are examined properly.

That is when problems begin.

Some instructors are operating outside their qualifications.
Some are teaching things they were never trained to teach.
Some do not even have insurance at all and let’s not start in health and safety , first aid or risk…

Rapid weight loss is everywhere right now.
Perfect angles. Transformation photos. Comments pouring in.
“What did you eat?”
“What workouts did you do?”
“How long did it take?”

But silence when it comes to the truth.

If you are using medications such as GLP 1 or Ozempic, be honest about it. People deserve transparency, especially when others are comparing themselves to your results and believing they simply are not working hard enough.

Real long term change is built through lifestyle.
Grit.
Discipline.
Consistency.
Healthy eating.
Strength training.
Commitment to yourself even on the hard days.

A quick fix should not get long term credit it did not earn.

And people also deserve to know that these medications are not risk free. Reported side effects and concerns can include muscle loss, loss of bone density, nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal issues, fatigue and even vision related complications in some cases.

This is not about judgement.
This is about honesty.
Because social media is influencing people every single day.



Be honest.
Be real.
Be the standard.

Too reserved to shout about their achievements but I’m bloody not!

Absolutely massive shoutout tonight to the youngest members of our class Seren and Libby

Tonight these two completed EVERY level of the PowerPlay challenge and honestly… what an achievement.

PowerPlay is not easy. It is heavy weights, endurance, grit, determination and weeks of pushing yourself further every single session. There are no shortcuts. No coasting. No relying on anyone else. The only competition here is the competition with yourself.

These girls have shown sheer brute strength, resilience and determination from start to finish. They dug deep, pushed through and earned every single level.

And trust me… you would not want to run into these two on a rugby field 😂

Super proud of you both ladies. Watching your confidence and strength grow has been incredible and I cannot wait to see you rocking those new vests 💚

What an absolutely amazing session tonight at Capel Farm Resource Centre 💚

Tonight we took away the momentum from the legs and changed things up by putting everyone on chairs for the weights section. Sounds easier doesn’t it? 😂
Little did everyone know that lifting weights seated is actually HARDER because the body cannot rely on momentum or pushing through the legs. Every movement had to come from control, strength and effort.

It also meant Ceri could still get her workout in after being poorly.

Every single one of you showed up for yourselves tonight. You worked hard, pushed through, laughed, grafted and proved how strong you are.

Proud is an understatement. You are all amazing 💚

Sweaty. Chaotic. Slightly unhinged. Brilliant fun 😆💚

Our dance based fitness class is for the women who want to get their steps in without staring at a treadmill for an hour.

No perfect dancers.
No sports bras and six packs.
No taking ourselves too seriously.

Just good music, loads of energy, sweaty faces, laughing until your stomach hurts and walking out feeling better than when you came in.

Whether you are getting back into fitness, rebuilding confidence, recovering from injury or just need an hour away from life, you will be welcomed exactly as you are.

It is loud.
It is bonkers.
And honestly… half the time it looks like organised chaos 😂

But it is also one of the most supportive rooms you could walk into.
