Another fantastic day at Allens Bar today as The Black Country took on Nottinghamshire for the top spot of the Central league!

The ladies started us off well with a nice 2-1, reinforcing their position at the top of the ladies league section.

Following suit, our U18's kept the momentum going with a 4-3, and again, reinforcing their position at the top of the U18's section.

On to the U21's and with some great players and some amazing games, Nottinghamshire finally got us with a 2-3 in their favour...

However...

The Amazing Alfie took control of the deciding set with the scores tied at 7-7 to give The Black Country another well deserved win!

All the official tables are still to come but, Wow! I do t think there's any other word for it! Just WOW!

This weekend brings a huge moment for the Black Country Youth Team as they face Nottinghamshire in their penultimate game of the season — a clash that could decide the top spot in the table.

Currently leading both the main league and all sub leagues, Black Country are in a strong position, but this match truly is the game of the season. A win here would be a massive step toward securing the title going into the final fixture.

(𝐀) 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲

Yesterday all the Guys & Girls made the long trek up the M42 up to play Nottinghamshire, Everyone knew they had a bit of a game considering the pedigree of some of the opposition players, which included a JDC England International & a Foundation Tour Winner, but we was all up for the fight 👊

Instantly we was on right on the front foot with a win from our unchanged girls squad from Montgomery & Radnor, Captain McKenzie & our newest girl Scarlett gave the girls a 2-1 win, but most importantly a lead

The U18’s had 1 change with Carter Jones coming out & Andrew Clemson given his full debut, We had the worst possible start with Jack Turner & Codey Exall playing amazing but it just wasn’t enough to beat their opponents who could not miss, Are we in a bit of trouble? Aaron O’Gara answered, ‘trouble what trouble?’ a 3-0 win. It wasn’t simple but it was a win…then the team had a buzz! Going into it star man Luke Wilkins up next did it again a 24.79 3-2 win & another man of the match. It looked easy then, Matthew Clemson had a dream debut with a 3-0 win, as well as captain Jordan and Cody Rollinson making it 5 straight wins for the boys in Black ,White & Red.

1 Win from 5 needed surely it was gonna be sooner rather than later weren’t it? Especially with Rhys Cox up first he glistened on his debut. Unfortunately, not an uncharacteristic performance from the big man and it was now 1 win needed from 4…is this going to end badly? Alfie Corbett was up next, and my word was it nervy in the venue - 2-2 Alfie needs 9. Big 1 he steps back, the whole team is on the feet, you could cut the tension with a knife, First Dart at D4 a little celebration on the stage a ginormous one by the team, Nottinghams heads had dropped, The Black Country team buzzing, We only needed 1 win but Reece Green ,Sam Firmstone and Bailey Morris said, ‘Nah let’s just win ours as well just to confirm it.’ The whole team absolutely buzzing with excitement, then we had even more news. Black Country were now top of the league!!! Nearly halfway through and we had just beat the team everyone said would beat us.

Next up our “Bogey” team Staffordshire, who we always struggle against let’s hope the tables turn ⚫️⚪️🔴
