Thorncombe Sports & Social Club A Community Amateur Sports Club For over fifty years we have been providing vital sporting and social facilities to our local community in West Dorset.

We host a wide range of sports teams from football and cricket through to table skittles and the club bar functions as the village pub. We're always open to new members, so whether you're just visiting for a day or you're a permanent resident please come and see us!.

The have been hard at work again at the club today (5 pixie hours today, after around 8.5 pixie hours a week and a bit ago).

There is still over 60% left to do and we would welcome any club members voluntary help. It would be so much quicker with a few of us at a time and the patio looks so much better where it's been hand weeded.

You can't pressure wash it sadly as it's laid on sand and just tends to wash the sand out causing dips in the patio (for proof see the dips from when this was tried last time 🙄😬.

Our new opening times

Wednesday-4:45-8pm
Thursdays 7:30- 11pm
Friday 4:45- 11pm
Sundays 6:45- 11 pm

So, tomorrow night the weather continues to be fab and the club is open from 4.45pm so come and relax with a drink in your hand, enjoy the view and maybe catch up with a few friends.

Also open Thursdays now from 7.30pm

Everyone is welcome we may be a club but anyone from the village, surrounding area or visiting on holiday can come up and play darts, pool skittles or bring your own board game inside or out.

If you are visiting for the first time and like it, joining brings many benefits including cheap drinks, reduced hall hire costs and more.

Membership is a bargain at just £20 for the year or £10 for juniors and seniors. You can join at the bar if and when you decide to.

This place is special and a valuable village resource. If you haven't been yet or not visited for a while, come on up and say hi!
