Our Saturday team are running a Bonus Ball competition to raise funds for some tracksuits and have a brilliant opportunity for someone to win the chance of having lots of publicity for the 26/27 season for just £20!

📣📢MESSAGE FROM THE GAFFER 📢📣

Jay: “ I would just like to take a minute to thank my players, my management team, the people who sponsored us and the people who have turned up to support me and the lads this year!

It’s been full of ups and downs and as any manager knows who has started a new team from the ground up, it is challenging at times! But the rewards far out weigh the challenges.

We started the year competing with every single team we faced including teams in the premier division in the cup but just falling short week in week out.

The lads never rolled over and I’ve never seen determination and grit like Thornaby Nash Saturdays have put in this year. Now we are starting to pick some results up the lads can see the hard work they put in is starting to pay off.

As a 24 year old, coaching first seasons in men’s football, I have absolutely loved working with this group and being involved with the Nash. What a football club to be apart of!

I have said it many times but I genuinely believe this team is the start of a big problem for other clubs!

So again big thank you to my players and everyone involved with the Saturdays. Our potential with the current group is huge and we are all looking forward to next season!

Loftus 6 - 3 Thornaby Nash Saturdays

Our final game of the season was a Friday night track down to sunny loftus.

Pitch wasn’t the best and was like playing on 45 degree angle.

We started the game under the cosh a little bit but we won a free kick and it was by Joel Henderson who fired at the keeper which was spilled and fired home by Scotty Williams.

Seems to score every time he plays for us 👏🏻👏🏻

Loftus the scored twice in meaning we went into half time 2-1 down.

HT: 2-1 loftus.

We then kicked off and conceded 7 seconds later.

3-1 loftus.

From there we added a second striker to the mix as Joel was in a 2 on 1 often and this changed the game completely.

Lucas Wilson did a good job of being a presence and a handful to deal with.

We were then awarded a penalty taken by Joel Henderson who unfortunately missed….

However he didn’t let this get to him after a wonderball in from young George Bailey was volleyed home from the same fella that just missed from the spot.

What a goal from Joel and the ball matched from George! Great work fellas

3-2.

The Nash full of momentum then carried on waves of dominance and from another world class ball into the box. Cal McKenzie found a looping header hit the back of the net.

3-3!

Surely the Nash were going on to win this game….

We kicked off again,

7 seconds later the ref gives the softest Penna I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

4-3

Ref stole the soul of the lads in a split second.

Very poor ref who should be no where near Saturday football leagues.

Match ended 6-3 to loftus - well done lads took your chances and we shall see you next year.
