🏏 TEMPLE SOWERBY CRICKET CLUB – 2026 END OF SEASON PRESENTATION 🏏
Last night we brought the 2026 season to a close with our end of season presentation — and what a season it has been for Temple Sowerby Cricket Club.
It was a great night celebrating our Under 13s, Under 15s and senior teams, looking back not just at this season, but at just how far this club has come.
Back in 2022, when we returned after Covid, we were struggling to get one senior team out on a Saturday.
Fast forward to 2026 and we’re now running six teams across seniors and juniors.
That’s some progress — and something everyone involved with the club should be incredibly proud of.
Our Under 11s had already celebrated their season back in July, so last night was about bringing the rest of the club together and recognising the achievements of our players.

A huge congratulations to everyone who picked up an award. They are all thoroughly deserved, but more importantly, every player who pulled on a Temple Sowerby shirt this year has played their part in what has been another brilliant year for the club.
And, as always, there are a few people who don’t necessarily get their names read out on the scoresheet but without whom none of this would happen.
❤️ Our Team of Ladies – who continue to serve up some of the best teas in the Eden Valley Cricket League every week.
🏏 Mike Carrick, Nick Lane and Dave Bellas – our junior coaches, who give up countless hours to coach, mentor and support our young players, whilst making sure they enjoy their cricket and learn to play the game in the right way.
🌱 James Farmer – our chief groundsman, who has put in countless hours preparing wickets and the ground. The Thunderdome has looked absolutely fantastic this year and that doesn’t happen by accident.
👏 Dougie and Anne Farmer – for the countless hours they put into preparing the club, supporting everyone and helping keep the club moving in the right direction.
And that really is the biggest thing to take from last night.
Temple Sowerby Cricket Club is no longer just a team that plays cricket. It’s a club.
From our youngest players through to our seniors, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters, everyone has played a part in getting us from struggling to field one senior side in 2022 to six teams in 2026.
We should be incredibly proud of that.
A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed to the club this year — whether you’ve scored a run, taken a wicket, made a catch, mowed a boundary, served a tea, coached a junior, put up fences or sheds, helped with the endless maintenance or simply turned up and supported us.
Every little bit helps, and collectively it is what makes Temple Sowerby Cricket Club what it is today.
Here’s to 2026 — and to an even bigger and better 2027.
