It’s now time for a new chapter.

We are proud to announce the formation of AFC Wellington — a brand new adults grassroots football club, built from the ground up in the heart of Wellington, Shropshire.

AFC Wellington has been established with a clear mission: to build something the whole community can be proud of. Not just a football team — a club with purpose, ambition, and deep roots in this town.

This is day one. And we want you with us for it.

PLAYERS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 🏆

Our final, and most prestigious award of the night was voted for by the players themselves.

The squad were asked to name their Top 3 votes in order for Players Player Of The Season.

First place vote awarded 3 points, second placed vote awarded 2 points and third placed vote awarded 1 point.

An ever present in every game and more impressively every training session since joining the Colts partway through the season, this player quickly established himself as a crucial part of every build up and involved in most of the positive things created.

A popular player within the squad, an even more popular player with referees (anger to be worked on over the summer!)

PLAYERS PLAYER OF THE SEASON 🥈🥉

Deemed by the coaching staff as the most important award of the season voted for by the peers of each player.

The squad were asked to name their Top 3 votes in order for Players Player Of The Season.

First place vote awarded 3 points, second placed vote awarded 2 points and third placed vote awarded 1 point.

Once in these were collated and we can now reveal that in 3rd place with 16 points was an earlier award winner….

We had a tie for second place and is testament to both players performances this season when called upon.

A player that became an integral part of the squad from day one of pre season.

Captained the team on multiple occasions.

Won numerous Man Of The Match awards and has improved levels.

We still see levels to be achieved and hope that he will be a colossus at the back again next season.
