Auto-scoring is brilliant for playing — but they're quietly costing people one of the most important skills in darts: knowing your own maths.
If the board always tells you what's left, you never actually learn to work it out yourself. Come off it for one night at a pub board and suddenly you're the one holding everyone up.
That's the fundamental we're building The Chalker to protect.
No board needed. No darts needed. Just your phone, whenever you've got two minutes.
Here's how it works — you watch a leg of 501 or 301 play out dart by dart, and it's your job to keep the score, just like a real chalker at the oche.
🎚️ 20 real skill levels — from First Timer right up to Stage Player, each with genuine averages and checkout percentages, not made-up difficulty settings
🗣️ Chalk Help ladder — start on Full Call with everything named for you, work down to Silent Chalk and Pro Pace where you're reading the board with nothing but your own eyes.
🎯 A proper dartboard — darts land one at a time with a real pause between them, exactly like watching it live
👥 Solo or Match Chalk — go it alone, or track two players' scores at once like a real chalker has to
⏱️ Response timer — see exactly how fast you can call a score once the third dart lands
❌ Bust detection — learn to spot when a visit doesn't count, not just what it adds up to
🏆 Leaderboard — climb the board across five standards of play and see how your chalking stacks up
