Do you know someone who deserves recognition for their dedication, passion and impact? Or a competition that you or your child have played in?

The LTA Awards, presented by Lexus, celebrate the outstanding individuals, venues, clubs, coaches, officials, volunteers and players who go above and beyond to make a difference in our sport and local communities.

Calling all coaches! 👋

Our Workforce Development Centre, Rocket Padel, is running the Somerset Coach Forum at Taunton Tennis Centre this November.

On-court session:

The on-court session will focus on technical development with junior players, primarily within the red and orange stages. By the end of the session, coaches will have a better understanding of how to optimise long-term technical development, ensuring technique does not limit future potential and always integrates closely with desired tactical outcomes and playing the game of tennis.

A great opportunity to develop your coaching knowledge, pick up practical ideas to take back on court and connect with fellow coaches from across the county. 🎾

A fantastic effort from the Somerset Men’s O50s who took in Buckinghamshire at The Avenue.

After lots of great matches, Somerset just came up short losing the match 3-2.

🏆🎾 What a week of Somerset tennis!

The 2026 Somerset County Championships delivered a fantastic week of competition at The Avenue, with champions crowned from 8U right through to our senior events. 👏

⭐ Almendra Correa-Garma led the way with an incredible FIVE titles, including a clean sweep of the 14U, 16U & 18U Girls’ Singles!

🔥 Finn Saunders completed a brilliant treble – 10U & 11U Boys’ Singles plus the 10U Boys’ Doubles.

💪 Thomas Pope also claimed THREE titles – winning the 14U & 16U Boys’ Singles and 14U Boys’ Doubles.

👏 Edward Smith was a double champion at 8U & 9U, while Thomas Keeler, Riley Westerman, Eric Daniel Bogdan, Frank Gueuning, Bob Kippen, Mike Robinson and Clare Gass were among our other multiple winners.

A huge thank you to officials Parul and Pippa, all our fantastic volunteers and helpers, and The Avenue for hosting us once again. ❤️🎾

Congratulations to every player who competed and helped make it another memorable County Championships!

We’re looking for female padel players who would love the opportunity to represent Somerset!

Open trials are being held for players interested in being considered for our:

🎾 Open Age team
🎾 O40s team

You don’t need to have represented the county before — if you’re playing padel regularly, love competing and think you’ve got what it takes, come and show us what you can do! 💪

🎾 Somerset Ladies 70s round off their season 👏

The Somerset Ladies 70s team wrapped up their season yesterday at Blackbrook, led by captain Mary Buckle.

They faced a formidable Hampshire side, who had already secured promotion to Division 1. Somerset battled hard throughout the day but couldn’t quite get the win this time.

Somerset squad:
🎾 Mary Buckle (Captain, Bridgwater)
🎾 Anne Guy (Bridgwater)
🎾 Sue Howard (Bridgwater)
🎾 Judy Kay (Minehead)
🎾 Sally Thompson (Bridgwater)

The team were also supported courtside by three additional squad members, who cheered them on throughout the day. 🙌

Despite the result, there was plenty to celebrate after a fantastic season of competitive tennis, great sportsmanship and brilliant team spirit.

👏 Well done to Mary and the whole squad on a great season! 🎾

But tournaments like this don’t happen by themselves, so it’s time for one BIG and final thank you! ❤️

A huge thank you to our Officials, Parul and Pippa, to Tim and everyone at The Avenue for hosting us so brilliantly once again, and to all the players, volunteers, parents, families and everyone else who played a part in delivering another fantastic tournament.

Without you, it simply wouldn’t be possible. 👏👏
