With the temperature set to hit the mid 30s over the next couple of days, please remember to:

☀️Avoid the hottest part of the day where possible
💦 Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water before, during and after your game
🧢Wear sun protection - use sunscreen and wear a hat
🌳Take regular breaks in the shade

🎾 A battling performance from the Somerset Men’s Over 50s, who made the trip to Bedfordshire yesterday and battled through scorching conditions! 🥵☀️

Facing a strong Bedfordshire side, Somerset gave it everything but ultimately went down 4-1 against quality opposition.

A fantastic team effort, with players from four different clubs proudly coming together to represent Somerset:

🐉🎾 2026 Red Dragon Tour Festival  🎾🐉

The first festival for Somerset’s U8, U9 and U10 players took place at the Avenue on Sunday, with 37 young players (19 girls and 18 boys) enjoying an afternoon packed with tennis, sunshine and smiles. ☀️

Beyond the brilliant tennis on court, it was the sportsmanship, friendships and positive atmosphere that really stood out — showcasing everything that makes Somerset Tennis so special. 👏

A huge thank you to Pippa and Paula for helping to run the event, and to everyone at the Avenue for hosting.

Special thanks to Jill and her kitchen crew for keeping everyone fuelled, Mark and Chelle for manning the BBQ, and all the parents who helped with scoring and supported so positively throughout the day. 🙌

Play Your Way to Wimbledon Area Finals 🎾

Best of luck to all the Somerset players who are competing in this weekend's Junior & Adult Area Doubles Finals (Dorset, Wiltshire & Somerset)!

The junior event is taking place at East Dorset Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club and the adult event at Victoria Park Community Tennis (Salisbury).

The Somerset Youth League was hosted at The Avenue, Burnham on Sea yesterday on a beautiful sunny day, perfect for tennis 🎾

U8, U9, U10, U12 and U14 teams from Avenue, Beckington, Taunton and Victoria all participated.

It was a long day, but the laughter, sportsmanship, and tennis were exemplary - well done to all the players.

Big thanks go to all parents, players, Tim, Debbie and Chris who did an amazing job and Gill who provided refreshments throughout the day ❤️
