“Another boring masterclass…”
It made me smile, but it also made me think.
We can look at riders and coaches at the very top of our sport and assume that years of knowledge, experience and success must eventually make self-doubt disappear.
It doesn’t.
And perhaps that’s an important reminder for the rest of us.
Confidence isn’t reaching a point where you never question yourself. It’s developing enough trust in your preparation, your experience and your ability to adapt that those little moments of doubt don’t get to decide what happens next.
So, the next time that little voice asks, “Am I really ready for this?” you don’t necessarily need to convince it to disappear.
Acknowledge it. Then come back to what you know, what you’ve prepared and what you need to do next.
Because feeling uncertain and being capable can exist at exactly the same time.
Thank you Carl, for another masterclass that was anything but boring!
