Rehab is all about meeting your body where it’s at 💪🏼

Lateral raises can be a simple way to start rebuilding shoulder strength and you don’t need to force full range straight away.

Start with a comfortable range, keep the movement controlled, then gradually build your range or resistance as things improve.

No dumbbells? Tins, bottles or whatever you have at home can work too!

Rehab doesn’t always need to be complicated it only needs to be appropriate for you. 🤎

What happens when one Clinical Massage Therapist treats another? 👀

A lot of comparing techniques, testing movement, asking “does that feel different?” and inevitably talking shop throughout the entire treatment.

We both came away from this one with some interesting thoughts, particularly around techniques we don’t necessarily agree on!

So, while we’re away this week, we thought we’d share a little more from two therapists, two perspectives ✨

Does your shoulder feel stiff or stuck? 😖

This band-assisted stretch helps improve internal and external shoulder rotation and can be useful if shoulder stiffness is limiting your movement.

✔️ Work within a comfortable range of motion.
✔️ You should feel a gentle stretch, not pain.
✔️ Hold for 15–30 seconds, then repeat on the opposite side.

Remember, not every shoulder problem is caused by stiffness, so if this increases your pain or your symptoms persist, it’s worth getting assessed.

This might be an unpopular opinion…

If every session ends with, “See you next week forever,” then I don’t think I’ve done my job.

Don’t get me wrong, some conditions need ongoing management, and maintenance treatment can absolutely have its place. But my aim is never to make you feel like you can’t function without me.

My goal is to help you understand your pain, move with more confidence, and give you the tools to manage it outside the treatment room. Massage is one piece of the puzzle, not the whole puzzle.

The best compliment I can receive isn’t that you need me every week.

It’s hearing that you’re back doing the things you love because you don’t.
