2025-26: 16th (relegation places, but reprieved)

Our shortest journey of this coming season so another great derby in store!

Clanny ended last term in the final relegation place, having only picked up 27 points from their 35 games in a season which was a stark contrast to the previous year when they made the Play Off Semi Final stage and only lost on penalties, however relief was only round the corner after the league published its proposed constitutions, with confirmation the side would remain in the Hellenic Leagues for an impressive sixtieth season.

To change the fortunes, the club confirmed in May [2026], the Dan Thomas (manager), Shaun Morgan (assistant) with Alan Heritage and Liam Readhead (coach) who will navigate 2026-27 and with pre-season getting underway as soon as next week [16.06.26] it will be interesting to see who will be joining once the signings start to be announced as the management team don’t appear to be wasting any time as they look to change the clubs fortunes.

IN OPPOSITION | We head to Gloucestershire for our next preview, and a visit to Chipping Sodbury - another great little ground to watch a game if you haven't already been!

Distance: 36.3m / 0h 58m
2025-26: 13th

It’s been a tough ride for the Sods since the 2021-22 campaign but there is hope that things will finally start to turn the corner.

An 18th place finish in the Premier League saw them avoid relegation, but the following year (2022-23) saw them finish a place lower and they found themselves relegated to Division 1 where their misfortune continued.

An 18th place end to the 2023-24 season saw them in the relegation places again finishing second bottom, but they avoided relegation again and the rebuilding began.

They placed 11th in 2024-25 and although last term saw them finish in 13th, the side did have firepower in their ranks with Kyle Head (15 goals), Tyler Dacres and George Box (12 each), so if they can keep hold of them and make some additions to the defensive line, there could be promising times ahead for the South Gloucestershire based side.

IN OPPOSITION | We look at another one of our closest games next - with Saracens narrowly missing out on the Play Offs, it will be another difficult one.

Distance: 31m / 0h 56m
2025-26: 6th (missed out on play off places by 2 points)

Another one of our shorter trips of the season, Saracens narrowly missed out on making the Play Offs last time round after a 1-0 defeat at Malmesbury Victoria in the run-in cost them the points required to take their place so will be eager to go one better this time round.

Like our last look at our opposition (Carterton), the Saracens are another side who spread their goal scoring threat throughout the side, so will certainly be a threat if they can hold on to a core of their side, however Ryan Dobbins was the standout goal scorer on the roster with 14 for the season.

The side exited the FA Vase in their second game last season, but reached Round 4 of the uhlsport Challenge Cup and progressed through three County Cup games before suffering defeat so with their sixth placed finish, it was definitely an improvement when they only avoided finishing in the relegation places by managing three more draws than Wellington, who finished a place below.

With such a massive improvement, the club have also seen improvement off the pitch in terms of their facilities so are very much a community club on the up.

IN OPPOSITION | Moving out of the Bs and in to the Cs today as we focus on another of our closest games this coming season, Carterton.

2025-26: 14th

Although Carterton finished just two places above the relegation places last term, the full story isn’t truly shown in that the bottom three sides finished a long way adrift of safety and eighth to fourteenth places were all very close in the points tally – demonstrating how strong the league will be.

The side also had a good spread of players amongst the goals, rather than having to rely on one star player with Kieran Day (11) and Zach Scott and Finley Baker both with 13 goals with Oliver Booker (6) and Jozef Fullerton (7) also in their ranks, but again – like all sides at this level, it will have to wait to be seen which players remain at the Empire Stadium for the new campaign.

Undefeated in their final five league games of the season, the side will be looking to continue that good form in to the new campaign and outside of their league schedule, the side made the Semi-Final stage of the county cup competition – losing out 3-1 to eventual winners Kidlington so the side will certainly want to push on after improving on 2024-25 when they finished bottom but avoided relegation to last season’s fourteenth place.

Reserves confirm 2026-27 ticket prices

Join us for the 2026-27 campaign – a new era for Supermarine Reserves as we celebrate our inaugural season in Step 6 football!

Matt Roberts and his team are looking to test themselves in the uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 for the first time in the sides history and they’ll need every single one of you behind them as you were throughout the whole of last season!

To help say THANK YOU as we step in to the unknown, we’re keeping our 2026-27 prices as low as we can and with the common ticket price at Step 6 in the region of £7 per game, we’ve opted to set our pay-on-the-day entry fee at just £6 – and that will include a complementary Game Day magazine while stocks last! Concession prices for the O65s will be priced at £4 while U18s will be £3 and U12s remain £FREE (but must be accompanied by a full paying adult).

We’re also introducing a season ticket option for 2026-27 to help you save even further!

With a minimum of 17 league games ahead of us, we’re offering a 2026-27 Season Ticket for just £92 which represents a 10% saving but that’s not all! Season Ticket holders will also get FREE entry to all home cup games and a guaranteed copy of the Game Day magazine upon entry – and with two cup competitions on offer, you’ll save even more the longer we progress!

An O65s concession Season Ticket is available for just £62, while a Youth Season Ticket is only £46.

To get your 2026-27 Season Ticket, email Adele at: [email protected] for details.

Distance: 70.5m / 1h 36m
2025-26: 1st (Herefordshire Premier Division – promoted)

Like Marine, Bromyard were promoted from their feeder league at the conclusion of last season but they finished as Champions of their league, which contained 14 sides as opposed to us who finished runners up in an 18 strong league.

The side were founded in 1893 and had some success at County level with last season’s promotion the fifth Championship won by the club – the third time in the Counties top level – but was the first real major success for the club in the past eleven-years.

Helping the Yard to that title were Ben Cowlishaw (25 goals) and Matthew Patrick-Rivers (24) so the club will be desperate to hold on to the pair to help build on the promotion success at the higher level so summer – as it is for all clubs at our level, will be a anxious time as sides continue to look for players and clubs from higher levels come looking.

Tim Bond’s side had a decent season last term having been relegated from the Hellenic Premier League the previous summer, however they fell short of reaching the Player Off spaces by nine points as they adjusted to life in Division 1.

The side had a number of easily recognisable names in their ranks last season, including the likes of Aaron Dainton, Ben Saunders, Jonathan Peachey-Score and Harry Dowling and they have a rich and successful history at and around this level of the game, so will no doubt be targeting another challenge at promotion this time round.

Again, there is nothing in the terms of signing news – but that is perhaps expected at this level with players waiting to see what offers come in right the way up to the conclusion of preseason.
The trip is out fourth shortest of the season, and for those who have never visited the Meadow, it’s a fantastic place to go to watch a game of football, so hope to see you there!

IN OPPOSITION | The second in our 2026-27 opposition series, we introduce one of last seasons Play Off finalists, Worcestershire based side Bewdley Town, who ended the season in third place.

Nickname: Riversiders
Ground: Ribbesford Meadows, Bewdley, Worcestershire, DY12 2TJ

IG: bewdleytownfootballclub

Distance: 71.7m / 1h 38m
2025-26: 3rd (Lost in Play Off Semi Final at home vs Stonehouse Town)

A fantastic season ended in disappointment for the Riversiders as they were one of the two highest placed play off placed sides who suffered defeat at the Semi Final stage, so will certainly be looking to avoid a repeat this coming year with their eye on the top spot and automatic promotion.

As with our Alcester Town review, Bewdley haven’t made any signing announcements at this stage of the close season, but last season’s leading scorer Elliott Lees (25 goals in 37 appearances) who finished third in the leagues goal-scoring standings will be one they’ll want to keep hold of – along with Kai Del-Kiffin (14 goals in 31 games making his 13th in the overall goal scoring chart).
