Polework clinic with Sarah Wedgbury BHSI.
Saturday 26th September.
We do polework for horses to improve their physical strength, body coordination, and mental focus through low-impact exercises.
What are the physical benefits?
Core Strength:
Lifting their legs higher forces horses to engage their abdominal and back muscles.
Better Balance:
Horses learn to steady themselves and control their weight distribution.
Joint Flexibility:
Stepping over poles increases the range of motion in their legs and spine.
Regular Rhythm:
Poles act as a guide to help horses maintain an even and steady stride length.
Coordination Benefits
Proprioception:
This is a body awareness term for a horse's ability to sense where its limbs are placed without looking. Poles teach them to coordinate their feet carefully.
Mental Freshness:
Adding poles breaks up repetitive flatwork routines, keeping the horse alert and interested in the training.
Small group size with 1 hour sessions.
£25 per rider.
