Lily’s Legacy
Lily’s Legacy was created in memory of our beautiful daughter, Lily, who was born on 9 December 2025 and sadly died just two days later, on 11 December, after suffering severe brain damage following complications surrounding her birth.
Although Lily’s life was far too short, she made an enormous impact on the people who loved her. During her short time with us, she fought incredibly hard and was given every possible chance to live. We were privileged to spend precious time with her, make memories with her and hold her in our arms as she peacefully passed away.
We created Lily’s Legacy because we want her life to continue to mean something.
For now, Lily’s Legacy will be a blog-style page following Lily’s journey from the very beginning — from the moment we found out we were pregnant, through our pregnancy, Lily’s birth and her time in hospital, to her death and the days and weeks that followed.
We will share our experiences, memories and the moments that made Lily who she was, while also documenting the journey that continues beyond her death. Ultimately, Lily’s Legacy will follow the legacy she left behind and the ways in which we hope to carry that legacy forward.
As Lily’s Legacy grows, our aim is to keep Lily’s name, memory and story alive while turning our experience into something positive for other families. We hope to raise awareness of the circumstances that led to Lily’s death, support organisations that help families through the unimaginable loss of a baby, and ultimately raise funds towards research and causes that may help prevent other families from experiencing what we have.
As the journey continues, we hope Lily’s Legacy can grow beyond the blog into fundraising, awareness, remembrance and community — and that, over time, it can make a genuine difference to other families.
