At Surbiton Croquet Club we welcome spectators and players of all standards, from absolute beginners to World Champions. We are an expanding club and, unlike many sports clubs, do not have a waiting list for new members. The Club was founded in 1984 and has grown to become the largest croquet club in the London area, with more than 150 members. Located midway between the Tolworth interchange on th

e A3 and Surbiton railway station, the Club has seven first-class lawns, a car park and a large club house with full catering facilities. The Club runs introductory sessions and internal competitions throughout the season as well as hosting national and international tournaments organised by the Croquet Association. We have regular Club days and evenings allowing you to meet other members easily. If you would prefer to watch and learn just come along at any time – on Club days or when we are hosting one of our many high-class tournaments

We are delighted to welcome multiple World Champion Reg Bamford to the Golf Croquet Open Championships 2026 at Budleigh Salterton Croquet Club.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in world croquet, Reg brings extraordinary experience, tactical brilliance and competitive spirit to this year’s championship.

Spectators can look forward to seeing one of the sport’s true legends in action on the lawns overlooking Lyme Bay this June.

Former World Champion Stephen Mulliner will be competing at the Golf Croquet Open Championships 2026 at Budleigh Salterton.

One of England’s most respected and accomplished croquet players, Stephen has represented his country at the very highest level for many years and remains one of the leading names in the sport.

Longman Trophy Round 1 Victory

Surbiton’s team of Stephen Parish, Bruce Moxley, Colin Dinwoody and Alan Grundy beat the team from Woking in today’s first round of the Longman Cup, 4 games to 3, in very sticky conditions.

GC Championship (Open Series) 2026

This year the championship was won by Jamie Burch who beat Reg Bamford in a thrilling final 7/6, 7/6.
24 players tussled over 2 days of mainly best of 3 games, sustained by some great grub including Kitty’s delicious Bobotie and Jennian’s Coffee Cake. The weather was kind but not so the lawns which were in great condition!

Lionel Tibble won the Shield, Richard Gardiner the Bowl and Steinar Olsen from Norway the Plate.
