At Surbiton Croquet Club we welcome spectators and players of all standards, from absolute beginners to World Champions. We are an expanding club and, unlike many sports clubs, do not have a waiting list for new members. The Club was founded in 1984 and has grown to become the largest croquet club in the London area, with more than 150 members. Located midway between the Tolworth interchange on th

e A3 and Surbiton railway station, the Club has seven first-class lawns, a car park and a large club house with full catering facilities. The Club runs introductory sessions and internal competitions throughout the season as well as hosting national and international tournaments organised by the Croquet Association. We have regular Club days and evenings allowing you to meet other members easily. If you would prefer to watch and learn just come along at any time – on Club days or when we are hosting one of our many high-class tournaments

England win the 2026 Association Croquet World Team Championship
The England Team, sponsored by Alliance Witan, have won the 2026 Association Croquet World Team Championship. The final of the centenary event was held at Surbiton Croquet Club, where the England Team proudly completed the last test to hold the MacRobertson Shield.
Over the course of three five day tests, England beat America, Australia and New Zealand to become the holders of the MacRobertson Shield, winning the 2026 Association Croquet World Team Championship. After fifteen days of play, the tournament came to a close when James Death pegged out against New Zealand’s Logan McCorkindale to win 26-25.

Yesterday Robert Fulford, England, completed his 100th MacRobertson Shield match win with his 6th partner Jack Good.
This was to clinch another win for England, who then finished the second day of the test against New Zealand 3-3.

Good luck to Robert and all the England team who will have a day of singles matches at Surbiton Croquet Club.

Spectators are very welcome to come along and learn more about the event and Croquet.

Surbiton entertained the New Zealand team ahead of the World Championships yesterday, succumbing 11-4 but giving them a real working over to earn their victory. mr Mulliner was particularly generous in the ‘training games’ winning both against the top 2 NZ players to help them on their way!!

The game was played as a round of doubles then two singles.

NZ: Chapman, McCorkindale, Webby, Fordyce, Bryant, Coutts (Westerby ill).
Surbiton: Mulliner, Maugham D, Parish, Eardley, Polhill, Maugham A
