A nice competitive game this morning for the FCC Golds. It was a close game, with the lads finding themselves 1-0 down at half time. However, after a team talk with the coaches, the lads stuck to the plan and started to play more as a team and showed their quality on the pitch. We quickly got one goal back before a last minute winner from Theo 👏🏻💛

A good training session tonight with the lads concentrating on set pieces, especially indirect free kicks and corners. They all did very well for the first time trying new drills and over the coming weeks we hope to perfect these ready for match day ⚽️🧡

A battling first game in the Spring Cup today for the FFC Golds. The game started well, going 1-0 up before finding ourselves 2-1 down not long after. It was end to end stuff with the lads playing some great football throughout. It was a close game and going into the dying minutes the game saw 3 goals, with the North East Sports Youth grabbing a late winner in the last minute of the game.

Not the result we wanted, but the lads showed great heart getting back into the game and didn’t stop battling. As always, very proud of the lads… Well done Golds 💛

A great game for the lads tonight to end the break before the start of the Spring Cup this Saturday 🙂 Both teams played very well with some excellent football and some great goals. As coaches, it’s so rewarding to see what we work on in training happen in a game and this is what happened tonight… Very proud of all of the lads 💛

The game ended 4-3 to the Golds before the teams enjoyed a fun penalty shootout 👌🏻

A real battle for the lads tonight! ⚽️ After a fantastic start that saw us leading 3-2, the game turned into a physical 6-4 loss. We controlled much of the play but just couldn't find the clinical finish when it mattered most.

Most importantly, the coaches are proud of the team's character. They kept their cool in the face of some tough challenges and refused to retaliate… a massive sign of growth. We’re getting better every single game. Onwards and upwards! 💛

A good training session tonight with the lads. Started off with some cardio work before introducing shooting to the end of the drill. We then worked on some build up play, encouraging the lads to look up before passing and after passing making a run into the box to receive the pass, before getting a shot off. The lads did fantastic at this and all worked very hard and made some great passes 🙂

We then went onto a 3v2 game where we had two defenders and three attackers. This was to allow the attackers to find space and run into the correct positions before receiving a pass and also working as a team instead of trying to just shoot and score.

Tonight’s Trainer of the Week goes to Albie for his efforts during the passing drills and also his fantastic link up with Harry in the 3v2 which made it very difficult for the attacking team. Well done Albie 👏🏻🏆💛

Our Player of the Match today, as voted for by Birtley’s coach, goes to Theo for his fantastic display in attack and his efforts all over the pitch, including his goal to take the lead in the second half and covering in defence when needed. He made some great runs down the wing and played some amazing balls into the box for his teammates to attack… an all round great game 👏🏻 Well done Theo 👏🏻🏆
