🏆 DIVISION 2 CHAMPIONS 🏆

Well there you have it….. Our first season together, if you had told us at the start of the season we would win the league we would have laughed at you! Dropping just 10 points all season is something we could have only dreamed of!

All credit goes to our kids, what a season they have given us! It’s been an absolute pleasure to be apart of.

We thank all of our coaches, sponsors and parents for being there every step of the way during this fantastic season.

We cannot wait for division 1….

🏆 Cup Final – Redhouse (Sundays) vs Chester-le-Street

Cup final day had finally arrived, and what a day it turned out to be. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was perfect. The changing room was bouncing with the lads’ playlist setting the tone, shirts hung proudly on their pegs, and everyone ready to enjoy the occasion.

A huge credit to Durham FA, who pulled out all the stops to make the day feel like a true cup final experience.

Before kick-off, the message was simple: showcase the football we know these lads are capable of, play with heart and pride, leave nothing behind, and most importantly, enjoy every minute.

And from the very first whistle, Redhouse delivered exactly that!

We started the game brilliantly, moving the ball around like Real Madrid, controlling possession and making our opponents work hard in the heat for every touch. The lads showed maturity beyond their years, recycling possession when needed, switching play from left to right, and looking composed and tidy throughout.

It didn’t take long for the breakthrough. Olz was brought down in the box, stepped up himself, and calmly converted from the spot to give us a deserved lead.

We continued to dominate the first half with some beautiful football. At times we became a little eager, trying to force the final ball instead of waiting for the right opportunity, but the control and quality on display were exceptional.

At half-time there wasn’t much to say other than: keep doing exactly what we’re doing, stay patient, and the chances to secure the game would come.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Redhouse continuing to knock on the door. Credit to CLS, whose goalkeeper produced some excellent saves to keep them in the game. Without that resilience, the tie could have been out of sight much earlier. Not finding the second goal did create a few nervy moments whenever they broke into the final third.

Eventually, though, the goal arrived — and it was exactly the type of football we wanted to see. A brilliant team move ended with the ball rolled across the box for Parker to tap home, and at that moment everyone knew the cup was heading back to Redhouse.

In the closing stages, the lads continued to showcase the level of football they had displayed from the very beginning.

What this group produced was nothing short of exceptional, and exactly what they deserved.

🏆 League and Cup winners. ⚽️ 🥇

It’s hard to put into words the emotions that have come with this season, but seeing the way the players, parents, and supporters celebrated together made every bit of hard work worthwhile.

The praise from Durham FA regarding the standard of football we played was a real testament to the effort, commitment, and dedication shown by everyone involved throughout the season.

A huge well done to CLS, who put in a resilient performance, and we wish them all the very best moving forward.

MOTM – Harry Bennet
What a player this kid is. I don’t know what his parents feed him, but his energy, work rate, and pure talent are incredible to watch and coach. A bigger engine than a Ferrari. Outstanding performance, Harry.

Opposition MOTM – Ethan (“Mr Consistent”)
Played with intensity, tenacity, and desire throughout. Won his battles all over the pitch, strong as a bull, and set the standard for his teammates to follow.

A special mention also goes to all our parents and supporters who made the occasion extra special. Without your continued support, days like this would not be possible.
One of the main reasons we created Redhouse was to build that family feeling, and week in, week out, that’s exactly what we have.

Finally, a massive thank you to all of our sponsors. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to provide these young players with the experiences and opportunities they deserve.

Gameweek 24 - (Saturday): Escomb Saxons vs Sunderland Redhouse Youth ⚽️

We travelled to Escomb on a beautiful morning for an early kick-off, knowing one point from our final two games would be enough.

Redhouse started brightly, playing on the front foot and creating chances. Unfortunately, we were undone by a long ball over the top, and Escomb took their chance to lead.

We didn’t let that affect us. We continued to play our football, created chances, and were unlucky not to be level before half-time.

At the break, we spoke about staying calm, looking after the ball, and picking the right pass to split the defence. With the slope in our favour, we knew the second half could suit us.

Redhouse were soon back level after a fine pass from Fin split the defence, allowing Beau to produce a brilliant finish over the oncoming keeper.

That really settled us, and from there, there only looked like one team who would come away with the three points.

The second came soon after, with Jenson putting a beautiful free-kick into the top corner.

Escomb then began to put in a few naughty tackles, but credit to the referee for taking control of the game.

Our third came from Fin, who had a stellar performance in centre midfield, smashing in another free-kick from 25 yards.

This result was a true reflection of our season: playing football the right way, believing in each other, and showing a never-say-die attitude.

After the final whistle, we asked the lads what the result meant — and that was the start of the celebrations. We reminded them that they got out of this season exactly what they put in.

Not only have they earned promotion, but they have also been crowned Division 2 Champions in our first season together.

We could not be prouder of each and every one of them.

We now look forward to our final game of the season next week, knowing we will finish as league champions.

Excellent effort, Redhouse — well-deserved league champions.

Sunday 17th May,

Redhouse vs Belmont,

With the league already in the bag we headed to Belmont for the last league fixture of the season.

Redhouse started brightly and got our noses in front with an unfortunate own goal by Belmont which allowed us to relax and play our football.
Rocco then added another before half time.
Second half followed similar to the first and we grabbed a couple more to finish the league off in style with miki and Ollie getting on the score sheet to take away a comfortable win and see Redhouse increase their points tally to finish off a fantastic season for the lads.

After wining the gold Sunday league we look forward to the cup final next week.

Gameweek 23 - (Saturday): Winlaton Titans vs Sunderland Redhouse Youth ⚽️

We travelled to Winlaton knowing it would be a tough game against a very well organised side who made things difficult for us earlier on in the season when we met.

We knew a win today would secure promotion to Division 1 for next season in only our first season together. It also meant that, going into our final 2 games, we would need just 1 point to be crowned Division 2 league champions.

The first half was a real battle between 2 disciplined teams. Both sides worked tirelessly out of possession, defended brilliantly and cancelled each other out across the pitch. There was plenty of intensity, strong tackles and competitive football, but very few clear-cut chances as neither side wanted to give anything away. We moved the ball well in spells and looked dangerous at times, while Winlaton also showed why they’ve been difficult opponents for teams this season.

0-0 HT.

The second half, however, we came out a completely different animal. The tempo, intensity and quality went up another level and from the restart we looked determined to take control of the game. The chances we created, we made count, and Winlaton simply couldn’t cope with the constant pressure and attacking play.

Our first goal came through Tawonga, who fired a low and powerful strike past the goalkeeper, giving us a deserved 1-0 lead.

Shortly after, we doubled our lead. Some fantastic wing play saw the ball delivered on a plate for Oliver to tap home and make it 2-0, which at that stage was nothing more than we deserved.

We continued to push forward and soon grabbed a third. Parker reacted quickest after the goalkeeper spilled a free-kick into his path, and he made no mistake blasting the ball into the back of the net.

A fourth came in the final 10 minutes when Tawonga smashed another strike into the net to grab his second goal of the game and round off an excellent performance.

Winlaton did grab a late consolation goal in the final five minutes, but it did little to take away from what was a brilliant second-half display as the game finished 4-1.

We’re incredibly proud of these lads. This result secures promotion to Division 1, which is a fantastic achievement from everyone involved with Redhouse. But the season isn’t finished yet, with two massive games still to play.

If you’d said at the start of the season that with two games remaining we’d be sitting top of the league, only having lost twice all season, we’d probably have laughed. But it just shows what hard work, determination, togetherness and the right attitude can achieve. From day one, we set targets as a group, and the lads have worked relentlessly to put us in this position.

Thank you to Winlaton for the game & thank you to our sponsors and parents.

Redhouse vs Durham United

Our penultimate fixture of the season, and although Redhouse knew that one win from our final two games would secure the league title, we kept that from the lads so they could play without any added pressure.

Redhouse started exactly how we wanted — playing our football, pressing all over the pitch, and moving the ball quickly and effectively to drive us forward.

We were unlucky not to take the lead early on, but that didn’t affect the lads as they continued to apply pressure throughout.

The deadlock was eventually broken by Parker, with a beautiful free-kick floated over the Durham keeper and into the net.

Although we were clearly playing the better football, our momentum was often halted by fouls from the opposition as they struggled to deal with the quality Redhouse were showing.

The second half followed a very similar pattern, with Redhouse controlling the game and unlucky not to get a second. Nathan broke free and smashed an effort in off the underside of the crossbar, only for it to bounce back out from inside the goal.

Unfortunately, the goal wasn’t given as the referee couldn’t see the ball had crossed the line.

The lads were disappointed, but to their credit they stayed focused, continued to play the right way, and saw the game out until the final whistle.

It wasn’t until after the game that we told them they had officially won the league — and the celebrations that followed were absolute scenes! Fully deserved for this group of lads.

Seeing how much it meant to them was a joy to watch and a fantastic achievement for everyone involved with Redhouse.

Overall, another performance we’ve come to expect from this team — pressing aggressively to win the ball back and playing quick, effective football in possession.

A massive well done to all of the lads at Redhouse 👏🏆

Goal:
Parker ⚽️

Thank you to Durham United for the game, and we wish them all the best moving forward.

Finally, thank you to all our parents, supporters, and sponsors for your continued support throughout the season.
