No league game this week for the lads so we took the opportunity to travel down to Redcar to compete in the mid level u8 championships.
The boys had a rocky start but really kicked on in the later stages and played some of the best football I’ve seen them play in a long time.
All 8 of the lads done themselves proud and great to see the newer lads growing in confidence.
After making it out of the group the lads got through a tough semi final against Stockton blues to set up a final against great Ayton who we’d faced in the earlier group stages.
The final was a good game played between 2 good teams but thankfully it was our lads that game out winners in a 3-2 thriller thanks to a Grayson strike and 2 Jake crackers. Well done lads. Proud of them all.
Couldn’t pick a player of the tournament they were all superb and in the end got what they deserved.

No league game for the lads over the weekend, so the headed down to Wolviston to pay a friendly against Wynyard juniors.
The lads were facing a team a league above them but who like ourselves have had lots of changes over last few months.
The lads were also playing a match on a grass pitch which again was new to some of the boys but good practice for the tournament we are in this coming weekend.
The lads played some really good stuff and controlled 90% of the game and came out winners. Credit to Wynyard they really pushed the boys all the way. Great to see the lads all come away with smiles on their faces and a win in the bag as they’ve had some really tough weeks.
Man of the match this went to the full team great performances by all the lads.

It’s been a quiet and frustrating few weeks for the lads, matches postponed and cancelled tournaments. Hopefully things take a up turn in the coming weeks with a couple of friendlies organised, back in action in the spring cup and also 2 tournaments between now and the end of the month which will hopefully see the boys get a bit more game time.
The lads have been working hard on the training pitch we’ve had some really good sessions the last few weeks hopefully that will show in the performances over the next few weeks. Keep working hard lads we’ll get there. 💪💪💪
Well done to Oscar trainer of the week this week. Worked really hard tonight and played some good stuff. Keep it up mate.

Spring cup game 3 saw the lads in action against a Hetton side we narrowly lost to in the semi finals of the tournament a few weeks ago. Both teams were very evenly matched early on and we were unlucky not to go in front. Unfortunately the lads just couldn’t deal with the physical side of the game and in the end were out muscled and eventually out played. The lads kept their heads and kept battling but in the end it was another defeat. Hopefully a change in luck next week as they deserve it.
Opposition man of match Niall well done mate playing the best football you ever have but unfortunately not getting the results your performances deserve.
My pick for man of match Oscar never stopped running best performance in a silky shirt so far.

The lads had a match in the spring cup this morning and confidence going into the match was quite high after last week’s performances, unfortunately it was a bad day at the office for the lads who were outclassed by a strong Hebburn team.
The boys were literally blown away in the 1st half and if not for Ben in goal it could have been so much worse.
The lads improved in the 2nd half and Ashton got the lads on the score sheet with a neat finish. Unfortunately that was as good as it got. What I will say is the lads battled and never let their heads drop just a bad day at the office. We go again next week. 💪💪💪

The lads didn’t have any spring cup games so today instead they played in a tournament, a first for some of the new lads in the team and what a great experience they had.
We’ve had a really tough run of things on and off the pitch in last few moths but today was a great example of football bringing everyone together.
We were in a tough looking group but the lads really dug in and put in 4 great performances to see them qualify for the semi-final of the gold cup. Unfortunately the lads went on to loose by the odd goal to a really strong Hetton team that went on to win the trophy so there’s no shame in that. The lads were exceptional on and off the pitch.
Couldn’t pick a man of the match, have to give them all so much credit.
⚽️ ⚽️ Niall two outstanding finishes getting better and better every week and really stood up in last few months.
⚽️ Grayson great finish and worked tirelessly for the team in all 5 games.
⚽️ Ashton tremendous as always, really is our mr dependable in all departments.
⚽️ William not been at the club long but becoming a real asset and a great finish in the semi-final.
🧤🧤🧤🧤🧤 Ben unbelievable, what a keeper we have.
Oscar tremendous today starting to really find his feet in the team and unlucky not to score a few times today.
Jake not been with the lads long but another one who never stopped running. Showed some great skills and is making the step up from a lower team.
Colton again another who’s only been with the team a week or two but what great little player we have there. He was asked to play at the back and was faultless.

Today was the last game of this season and unfortunately the lads struggled against a team battling for promotion.
1st half the lads were top class battled well and were well in the game at half time. Unfortunately the 2nd half was a different story and the lads really struggled and game unfortunately ended in defeat.

It’s been a really tough season for the lads loosing 3 key players and a coach but they’ve battled on and not let their heads drop playing with smiles on there faces even when their backs have been up against the wall. The 2 lads we’ve brought in are starting to find their feet and hopefully after a few weeks off from league games we can re group and get ready for the spring season. Well done for this season boys.

The lads we’re back in action yesterday against dearness park. The boys were quick out of the blocks and took the lead through Ashton with a neat finish. Deerness park pulled one back just before half time.
2nd half the boys were out quick again and scored through Niall. Deerness again came back into the game and drew level. The lads pushed for the winner but again were just out of luck and the game finished all square.

The lads were back in action this morning against crook who again proved to be difficult physical opponents for the boys.
The boys made a slow start and we found ourselves a couple of goals down early on. The boys rallied with 2 great finishes, a goal a piece from Ashton and a 1st goal for Oscar saw the lads go in at half time level.
The 2nd half was again challenging and the boys kept to the task but unfortunately crook managed to grab another couple and the boys were again behind. A 3rd goal for the lads came from a lovely goal from Niall but again unfortunately the lads were on the wrong end of the result. Certainly can’t fault there effort in last few weeks but they are very much out of luck. We go again next werk. 💪💪💪

It’s been really stop start few weeks for the boys, so was great to get them back playing a match this morning.
The boys faced a tough Hilda park team, but they put in a terrific performance playing some great football.
The lads started brightly and controlled the 1st half for long periods. The lads went in at ht level.
The second half began the same way playing some great football and creating lots of chances but were hit caught out a couple of times on the break that cost them. We pulled a goal back and continued to create a lot of chances but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.
All the boys were fantastic today and on another day they would have got the win they deserved unfortunately it’s probably been the story of our season. Play so well but luck just not being our side. We go again next week. 💪💪
