Most improved 2025/26

This girl has had quite a story with her football over the years. She had every reason to quit altogether but we are so grateful she gave us a chance when we took the team over. Slowly but surely she rebuilt her confidence and belief, playing a bigger part in the team each week. It's been a pleasure and source of great pride for us as coaches to see her fall back in love with the game and watch her hard-work slowly pay off. She is everything we hoped to achieve when we took a dying team over but our part is tiny and it is really down to her effort, resilience and skill level. We can't wait to see how far she can continue to progress. Our award for most improved this year is Bella.

Coach's player - 2025/26

This one was so hard to choose but the winner is someone who gives her absolute all to everything she does and we ask of her. She has matured massively over the years and become a real leader in the group as well as a positive influence in the team. Off the pitch, she will support and encourage those who need it, on it she brings quality to every role. She takes training and matchdays seriously, warm-ups properly and her value is abundantly clear when she misses the odd game. She had an incredible year last season and has continued that progress this, the fact she picked up a number of votes for the Player/Parents award was further evidence for us of how deserving she is. Our award for Coaches player is Eva.

Players/Parents award - 2025/26

Easy to see why this girl has picked up this award as voted by Parents and players. 38 goals and bags of assists are only a part of the story, her skill level and dribbling is off the charts. We may spend most days pleading for her to pass the ball or calm down but she keeps us entertained and on our toes. We are very fortunate and grateful to have her and she's fully deserving of this award. This year's Players and Parents award went to Laycie.

Five years service trophies awarded to Chloe, Annalise, Martha and Imogen today as part of our presentation.

All starting with the team at u7's, they've each been through massive lows and highs, team changes, coaching changes and seen many team-mates come and go. They've all had plenty of reason to move on themselves, their loyalty is almost unheard of in grassroots football. Massively proud of each of them and their journeys.

We'd love nothing more than presenting more of these awards in the years to come 🙏

We marked the end of 2025/26 today with our annual presentation at the Beacon of Light.

Always a chance to reflect on our past year and overall development. This season saw us transition to the 9 a-side format and face a number of rule changes as well as promotion to Division one. The season began with a couple of amazing summer tournament trophies before a great start to the league saw us go unbeaten for a long spell. We wobbled in the late autumn before recovering just before Xmas. Our close to the season became very stop-start due to rearranged games but we ended with an upper mid-table finish which is a huge achievement for the girls considering where we've all came from.

Off the pitch, the girls have became grown and matured becoming closer as a group. They are a huge credit to their families and club week in, week out, it is an honour to be associated with them and to play a part in the journey.

A massive thank you to ScafMax ltd for their continued support and sponsorship this season and beyond.

Training this week saw us braving the almost four seasons of Downhill in a single hour.

We opened with 1 v 1's and overloads as a warm-up. Our main drill focused on playing out from the back which will be an area of focus for us over the summer. Pleasing to see the girls progress and show a growing degree of comfort on the ball but Imogen also capable to play more directly when needed.

Eva picked up player of the session. A real leader and positive voice in the group, she did everything with quality on a night she was close to her best. Shoutout for Martha too who pushed her very close.

Training tonight in the sunshine with the majority of the squad available.

We focused on passing, movement and finishing with a few variations before finishing with a longer match. Some good football played at times but speed of play can be improved and will be with repetition.

Chloe picked up player of the session. Started the session on fire with a couple of stunning finishes across goal and maintained a high standard throughout the session. Shoutouts for Rose and Laycie too who both enjoyed very good weeks.

Last game as u11s at the weekend wasn't the ending we hoped for. Missing a few players especially defensively showed against a strong, physical side.

We were able to lead for much of the first-half through goals from Laycie before a contentious penalty on the stroke of half-time pegged us back. Unfortunately we struggled in the second-half and weren't at our usual levels in the heat with a smaller squad.

Player of the match awarded to Imogen who commanded her box brilliantly and kept us in the game for much of the morning.

A disappointing end to the season but we can be proud of our achievements this season, an upper mid-table finish was the height of our hopes heading into the season after promotion last year and the top 3 have never been far away all season. Lots of highs and personal progress across the season, one or two lows with some frustrating draws holding us back. A small break now but lots to look forward to over the summer and hard work to come.

Training last week saw us build on an earlier session with a pass and move drill with an extra shooting layer added which the girls adapted to really well. We finished with a match focusing on one touch finishes.

Player of the session went to Rose, her understanding of the game was fantastic to see, and she’s doing a great job putting that into practice both in training and matches. Shoutout to Bella for an extraordinary goal from her own half.
