WAS SUP SYMPOSIUM

Just wanted to extend a massive thank you to Chris Rea / Ben Longhurst and the team at Water Skills Academy for their SUP Symposium at Hayling Island

Meeting an absolute fantastic bunch of people for three days of activity which includes the Industry Day.

I participated in a full days SUP safety and rescue course and then on Sunday paddle technique and testing and the afternoon Coastal Journey.

Dee participated in Coaching and Learning, Head games and on Sunday Paddleboard discussion and practical for SUP Yoga for teachers.

CPD EVENT

SUPTA and DEEOPP YOGA are collaborating to offer the first specialised CPD (continual professional development) training in trauma-informed instruction from a paddleboard.

The event is open and relevant to all SUP Instructors and SUP Yoga, Pilates and Fitness Instructors, regardless of the organisation you trained with/are training with.

The morning will involve lectures with practical case studies and discussion, plus an optional SUP Yoga lesson.

"What is being 'Trauma-Informed', and how can it make you a better coach or instructor?"

As we emerge from the global pandemic, many people may face significant concerns about their mental health and wellbeing. This certified CPD course/lecture will give you valuable insight into how you can work more effectively with those seeking to improve their health and wellbeing through water-based activities and provide greater understanding of the effects of trauma.

(and join us for a social SUP on the sea afterwards if the weather allows!)

Finally able to get (after another week of terrible weather), with a great group of people for SUP Instruction at 6pm.

The sun was out as we headed to Sunbury Lock and back for a blissful evenings paddle.
