Longford Athletic FC are looking for players in all positions, particularly CB’s. We were formed last season and looking to build on our positive performances towards the end of the season. Incredible performance from the lads! Unfortunately a perfectly placed free kick and a penalty, along with Farmer forgetting his shooting boots, meant we lost 2-0. So many positives to take and things are starting to click! MOTM goes to Stephen Manford. What a debut! Veteran Stephen Manford stepped up in defence and commanded the back line. The CB partnership he formed with was unbreakable (from open play even though both made fouls leading to goals 😬)

After a few mistake saw us go into the break narrowly behind, inevitably mentality let us down once again as late goals turned the game into a bigger score than it needed to be. The lads are committed to turning this misfortune around! We go again next week!

MOTM goes to Marc Clifford after his scuffed penalty somehow found the side netting. Unfortunately this was Marc’s final game for the taps as he heads overseas for an adventure of a lifetime. His presence in the squad will be greatly missed and the club wishes him all the best until we see him again next season 🫡
