I learned my craft from the ground up.

I qualified as a coach and immediately put myself into local clubs so I could learn from those who already coached.

When I started Streetly Coaching (under the name Coach Stevenson) it was just me, eight kids, a field and a ball.

That grew. So did my team. I surrounded myself with good people - coaches, parents and kids.

Eight slowly became 140, and for the first time last year, we added holiday camps - a sustainable business rather than a hobby these days.

But we do not forget who we are, I do not lose sight of what sets us apart from the rest.

Everybody is welcome. Gender, race, ability and those with additional needs. Nobody turned away and nobody dropped.

I know every child and parents name, past and present.

Every single one.

Without them I would still be crunching numbers in a finance office.

And this is a thank you to them all ♥️

Dislikes: Getting hit in the face with the ball! 😂

If there’s a football anywhere nearby, you can guarantee Theo will be desperate to get on it!

Always smiling and always wanting to play, Theo brings bags of enthusiasm to every session. He doesn’t mind taking a tackle, certainly isn’t afraid of giving one back, and there’s nothing he enjoys more than getting forward and scoring a goal.

He’s also become Coach Andrew’s little shadow! Whether it’s following him around at training or even asking if he can come back to his house, Theo is never usually too far away! 😂

What stands out most about Theo is just how much he loves playing football. He throws himself into everything, plays with a huge smile on his face and just wants to be involved whenever there’s a ball to be won.

Enthusiastic, fearless, always smiling and absolutely football mad.

Josh - 10

Supports: Aston Villa
Loves: Practising and playing football with his dad.
Dislikes: Negativity on the pitch.

Josh is a striker who absolutely loves scoring goals, but there’s far more to his game than finding the back of the net.

One thing you can guarantee with Josh is that he will never give up. He battles constantly, competes for everything and will keep going right until the very end.

He loves a challenge – whether that’s giving one or receiving one – and whatever is asked of him, he gets on with it without moaning. That attitude and resilience make him the sort of player every coach loves having in their team.

Josh is also a natural leader. He wants the best from himself and those around him, and his dislike of negativity says a lot about the standards he sets on the pitch.

A goalscorer, a battler and a leader who always wants to compete.

Lucas - 11

Loves: Playing well in front of his daddy.
Dislikes: When it’s too hot to play.

Lucas is often held to a higher standard as a coach’s son, but he regularly turns up with a smile on his face and gives 100% in everything he does.

Lucas has additional needs, but he has never allowed them to hold him back or define what he can achieve on a football pitch. He works hard, embraces every challenge and just gets on with playing the game he loves.

His progression, particularly over the last two years, has been amazing to watch. He’s grown enormously in confidence and ability and has become a well-liked and respected member of the team.

Lucas always gives it everything and every now and then, he’ll remind everyone what he can do by curling an absolute beauty into the top corner!

Hard-working, determined, resilient and always playing with a smile.
