Interested in becoming a qualified lifeguard?
We are running an NPLQ Course at Halesowen Leisure Centre from 26 October to 31 October, with training taking place from 9:00am to 6:00pm each day.

📅 Swim Test: 17 October
⏰ 11:00am
📍 Halesowen Leisure Centre

📅 Exam: 31 October
⏰ 9:30am

💰 Cost: £285pp

⚠️ Due to ongoing technical issues, the wave machine at Crystal Leisure Centre is currently out of order.

🏊‍♂️ The Waikiki Waves session will still go ahead as planned, however, standard leisure pool admission prices will apply instead of Waikiki Waves pricing.

✅ All other features within the leisure pool are working as normal and remain available for you to enjoy.

🔧 Our team is continuing to investigate the fault and carry out further work to identify and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

🚨 Crystal Leisure Centre - Leisure Pool Closure Notice, Thursday 10 September, from 3.30pm - 8pm.🚨

Unfortunately, due to staff shortages, the leisure pool at Crystal Leisure Centre will be closed from 3.30pm today, Thursday 10 September. Therefore, the following sessions will not be available:

❌ 4.00pm - 6.00pm SEND Family Disability Swimming
❌ 6.30pm - 8.00pm Public Swimming

🏊 The 25m pool will remain open as normal for competent lane swimmers wishing to swim lengths.

🙏 We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding while we manage this situation.

🚨Course: STA Award in Aquatic Teaching – Disability Swimming

🏊If you are a swimming teacher who wants to broaden their skills, why not upskill your qualifications in order to teach as a disability swimming teacher?
Once qualified, you'll be able to teach the STA Rockhopper and Emperor series – specific disability awards that focus on skills and distance.

📣Course details:
The course is being held at Crystal Leisure Centre on the following dates:
Thursday, 22 October 2026
Friday, 23 October 2026
Thursday, 29 October 2026
Friday, 30 October 2026

🚨Entry requirements:
❗Be at least 16 years of age
❗Hold the STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming or acceptable equivalent (please note: a Level 1 Award in Aquatic Teaching / assistance qualification is not an acceptable entry requirement).
