Milton mavericks U11 players of the match

Noah - another player of the match award for Noah. Week after week he is constantly putting in brilliant performances. Today he was a solid as ever in defence and showed great awareness when cutting out dangerous passes. Made some great saves when in goal also!.!

Carter - playing up front by himself at times today and do very well to hold up the ball while teammates were able to join in attacks and held the ball up. Played some great through balls when dropping into midfield to get involved in the game more. Tireless work rate when closing down and pressuring defenders.

Jacob - first game for the Mavericks today for Jacob and a great first game it was. Held up the oppositions attackers well in forcing them away from goal and made so crucial blocks and tackles. Managed to slow down play and add control by putting his foot on the ball getting his head up to find a forward pass.

Well done Mavs 🔵⚽️

Leek Town Lightning 🆚 Milton United U10s 💙🤍⚽️🩷

What a great, evenly matched game we had today! A fixture that really could have gone either way, with both teams giving it everything. I’m absolutely over the moon with the work rate of every single player. 👏

Jacob, George and Bertie showed excellent composure on the ball, regularly finding the right pass and helping us build our attacks, with Jacob playing a key role in helping us take the lead.

Both teams enjoyed great spells of possession, playing some lovely one-twos and showing real determination in their defensive duties. Every single player worked their absolute socks off, making the coaches and parents incredibly proud!

🏆 Managers’ Player of the Match – Bobby
An outstanding all-round performance from Bobby today! He kept a clean sheet during his first two quarters in goal before coming out into midfield and man-marking their key player. A fantastic shift from start to finish and a thoroughly deserved award! 👏

🏆 Parents’ Player of the Match – Cruz
Cruz was solid at the heart of our defence today, mopping up everything that came his way and consistently finding himself in the right position to help his team. A brilliant defensive performance and a very well-deserved award this week! 💪

🏆 Players’ Player of the Match – Immanuel
Immanuel continues to improve week after week, giving us that attacking threat we need going forward. His confidence and development are there for everyone to see, and it’s great to see his hard work paying off! 👏

🎯 Next week’s focus: Making sure all our players are more aware of their teammates’ positions during the game. Understanding where our teammates are and when to pass will help us make better decisions, keep possession and create even more opportunities as a team.

Another fantastic team effort from the Millers. Keep working hard, keep learning and keep making us proud! 💙🤍⚽️🩷
