League Cup Quarter Final
NSA Ambers Vs Boro Rangers Bayern
A tough test for The Ambers today as we welcomed a strong Boro Rangers Bayern side, competing two leagues above us.
The Ambers started brightly, showing no signs of the league gap. High pressing and confident play kept Bayern on the back foot early on, and it paid off when Davis fired home a superb left-footed effort to give the home side a deserved 1–0 lead.
We continued to push, but Bayern’s defence held firm before they found an equaliser from a corner, with an unmarked finish levelling the score. The Ambers looked to respond, but just before half-time, Bayern broke forward to grab a second and take the lead into the break.
The second half saw Bayern step up another level. A corner resulted in an unfortunate own goal to make it 1-3 and moments later, a quick fourth put the game further out of reach. Bayern continued to show their quality, adding a fifth goal as the match progressed.
To the lads credit, The Ambers never stopped battling. Late in the game, we were awarded a free kick just outside the box, and Max stepped up to deliver once again—his third free-kick goal in four games—bringing the final score to 2–5.
A strong and spirited performance from the lads against top opposition. We’re incredibly proud of their effort and the progress shown in reaching the latter stages of the League Cup.
With the season now concluded, attention turns to next year, with preparations already underway including preseason friendlies and summer tournaments.
