Everyone at Stockton Rugby Club would like to congratulate our very own Evan Boyd Smith on his fantastic selection for the Newcastle Red Bulls U18s! 👏

This is a brilliant achievement and a testament to Evan's hard work, dedication and commitment to developing his game. We are incredibly proud to see one of our own earning this opportunity and representing both himself and our club at the next level.

We wish Evan every success with the Red Bulls and can't wait to follow his journey. Go and smash it! 💪

Stockton Rugby Club members are invited to attend the Club's Annual General Meeting (AGM).

📅 Thursday 20th August 2026
🕣 8:30pm
📍 Stockton Cricket Club Function Room

The AGM is an opportunity for members to hear about the club's progress, have their say, and help shape the future of Stockton Rugby Club.

Committee nominations are now open for the following roles:

President
Chairman
Treasurer
Secretary

Clarification regarding Voting;
- Nominations for election to official roles must be submitted to the Honorary Secretary no later than seven days prior to the AGM.
- Nominations must be in writing, proposed, and seconded by subscribing Members. Nomination and Election of Board Members.
- Any Voting Member may nominate another Member to serve as President, Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer.
- To be eligible, nominees must have been Voting Members for at least one year, be nominated and seconded by other Voting Members, and use the prescribed nomination form, submitted to the Secretary by the date set by the Board.
- Definition of a Voting Member - A Voting Member is defined as a person who pays senior membership fees or Vice Presidents’ fees on their own behalf.
- Junior members and those paying fees on behalf of junior members are not classified as Voting Members

The family of the late Graham Newton have asked me to share the details of his Funeral which are as follows:

Suddenly and unexpectedly in hospital on 15th July, Newt aged 59 years. Devoted and caring Husband of Michelle and also a much loved and loving Dad of Hannah and Millie.
Graham was a loyal and loving family man, an inspirational and dedicated Chairman of Stockton Rugby Club and a great friend to so many people. Graham will be very sadly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.

A celebration of Graham’s life will take place in the Maplewood Chapel, Stockton Crematorium on Thursday 13th August at 12 noon. The ceremony will be live streamed to the adjoining Bluebell Chapel. The ceremony will also be live streamed online for those unable to attend in person. Details to access the live stream are as follows:

Before arriving at the Crematorium, Graham’s funeral cortège will leave his home in Yarm and make one final, special visit to his beloved Stockton Rugby Club, arriving at approximately 11:15am.
Everyone is warmly invited to gather at the Rugby Club to pay their respects as the cortège enters the grounds and makes one final journey around the Club that meant so much to him, before continuing on to Stockton Crematorium.
Those wishing to gather at the Rugby Club are then welcome to make their way ahead to Stockton Crematorium prior to the Cortège leaving, or alternatively, you are very welcome to meet at the Crematorium.

Family flowers only please by request, donations in lieu if so desired to Breakthrough T1D or Stockton Rugby Club, Woman's and Girls Section. Donations can be made and memories of Graham can be shared by visiting Graham’s online tribute page by using the following link, https://graham-mark-newton.muchloved.com/ a collection will also be available at the Crematorium for anyone wishing to donate to Stockton Rugby Club, Women and Girls section.
