⚽️ U9 Matchday Report ⚽️

A very well done to all the boys today! 👏🏼 The weather could have made things tricky, but the boys handled the game really well and put in a fantastic team performance.

We built a good lead in the first half and never looked like giving it away. There was some lovely football played throughout, with some great passing, teamwork and goals. ⚽️

🧤 Denley and Travis shared the goalkeeper responsibilities today and both did a great job.

🛡️ Greyson led the way in defence and put in a strong performance. Toby followed this up when he took over and did really well too.

⚡️ Jack and Travis were excellent on the wings, playing some great football, linking up well, and contributing with some fantastic passing and goals.

🎯 Sebastian led the line brilliantly, working hard all over the pitch and deservedly getting himself on the scoresheet.

👏🏼 Joey worked hard throughout the game and showed some lovely touches. In his development role, he also got his first goal!

💪🏼 Leo is still learning and getting to know his new teammates, but once everything clicks into place, it will be lovely to see. He worked hard today and it was great to see him get his goal too!

🌟 Charles put in his best performance today. He played with confidence, scored a lovely goal and put in some great crosses. Hopefully this will give him a real confidence boost.

🏆 U9 Tournament Report 🏆

What a fantastic day for the boys today! ⚽️👏🏼

We started the tournament with a draw in our first game, with some brilliant saves from Denley in goal, while Jack got himself on the scoresheet twice. It was newcomer, Leo’s, first game with us and he didn’t disappoint.

Our second game saw us pick up a win, with Jack once again scoring two goals! Denley was fantastic in goal again, making some great saves. 🧤Travis showed great pace, racing up and down the pitch and giving his all for the team. ⚡️⚽️

For our third game, Denley moved out to right wing and got himself on the scoresheet with a goal of his own! ⚽️ Jack continued his incredible goal-scoring form with another two goals. 👏🏼Travis made some incredible saves during his time in goal.

Our fourth game ended in a draw, but it was enough to secure our place in the semi-finals! 🙌🏻We also came up against our first girls’ team of the tournament, which was a great experience for the boys. Grayson made some fantastic tackles and worked hard defensively. 💪🏼

Into the semi-final, and Jack did what Jack does best — another two goals to help get us into the final! 🔥⚽️ Joey put in a brilliant shift for the team, working hard from start to finish. 👋🏼⚽️

🏆 THE FINAL 🏆

Unfortunately, the final ended in a penalty shootout defeat, but the boys should be incredibly proud of themselves. Denley pulled off some cracking saves, including during the shootout, and gave everything right until the very end. 🧤❤️

Today was Leo’s first ever match with us, and what a debut! He was a strong player, worked hard and fit into the team brilliantly. We’re so pleased to have you with us, Leo! 👋🏼⚽️

🌟 PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT — JACK 🌟

Without a doubt, this one had to go to Jack! His goal-scoring throughout the tournament was outstanding, finding the net time and time again and playing a huge part in getting us all the way to the final. ⚽️🔥👋🏼

So proud of every single one of the boys today. They battled, worked together, showed great attitude and gave it everything. ❤️🖤

⚽️ Match Day ⚽️

The boys played really well today against another strong Riverside Juniors side. They had two players who played in Division 3 last season, with the rest playing in Division 6, as well as a player we may recognise from a friendly game we played a few weeks ago.

We were a little short at the back today with a few players unavailable, but the boys worked incredibly hard and really pulled together as a team. 💪🏼

⚽️ Goals from Travis, Seb and Greyson — these boys never stopped running and worked tirelessly to put the opposition under pressure.

Jack and Joey also worked their socks off, putting in some lovely crosses and showing great effort throughout the game. 👏🏼

Tobias was incredibly brave to share the goalkeeper responsibilities with Travis today 👏🏼 and he was also commanding in defence. He came so close to getting on the scoresheet himself with a fantastic long-range effort! 🚀

A really positive performance from all the boys today, and it was fantastic to see them working so hard for each other as a team. 🖤❤️

We have no game planned for next week, so it’s back to training before our next games at our first tournament! 🏆⚽️

⭐️ Player of the Match: Greyson ⭐️

Today was really difficult to pick just one Player of the Match, but I felt this was Greyson’s best game to date. He never stopped running and worked incredibly hard for the team. Well deserved, Greyson! 👏🏼

We have a trophy on the way and once it arrives, this will be passed between our Player of The Match 🏆

From now on, we’ll be awarding a Player of the Match after every game, and I also have a little surprise lined up for the boys at the tournaments… 👀🏆⚽️

⚽️ FC Teesside Thornaby U9’s 2nd Friendly of the Pre-Season ⚽️

FC Teesside Thornaby U9’s v St Francis U9’s

What a game! They came out full of confidence and their goalkeeper made several outstanding saves to keep us at bay in the opening stages.

To our players’ credit, they didn’t let their heads drop. They kept working hard, continued to pass the ball, supported each other and trusted the football we’ve been practising in training. Their determination soon paid off as they found a way back into the game.

Once we got our first goal, the confidence really started to grow. The team moved the ball brilliantly, created chance after chance and finished them with some fantastic strikes. Every player contributed with relentless effort, teamwork and encouragement.

A huge credit to our opponents, who never stopped competing and whose goalkeeper was exceptional throughout the match, making some incredible saves.

Well done to every single player for an outstanding performance, and thank you to all the parents and supporters for your fantastic encouragement from the sidelines. On to the next one! 🖤❤️⚽
