If your brain feels like 99 tabs are open at once, read this 👇🏻😅

As a pregnant toddler Mum into the 3rd trimester running a business - it’s safe to say that my brain has been very active as of late 🤰🧠 💻 👧

Soooo I thought I’d share 5 ways that I’m starting to incorporate more mindful approaches to my daily work and life routine that is aligned with my current energy levels:

1️⃣ Noticing my “all or nothing” thinking with daily tasks.

✨ Instead of “I have to get everything done today,” I’m shifting to “What’s one thing I can do today that is good for current me and will support future me?”

2️⃣ Creating more intentional energy around my daily to-dos.

✨ It’s not about doing more — it’s about doing what *actually* matters. Even one aligned action can build momentum, so I’m really paying attention what daily tasks create impact and aren’t just another tickbox to make me look “productive”.

3️⃣ Using quick NLP mindset resets when I lose perspective and start thinking it’s all too much.

✨ Anchoring, reframing, visualising, you name it — they take just a few minutes and have the power to shift me from stuck to focused. Magical! 🪄 (More will be shared on this)

4️⃣ Allowing rest to be productive.

✨ Yep. Pregnant me needs to slow down, so instead of feeling guilty (an easy path to go down!) I’m reminding myself of this: rest is 100% essential for me to be my best self! As a mum, partner and for my clients.

5️⃣ I’m using my creative side as an act of self care.

✨ Whether it’s doing an art tutorial on YouTube or writing a short blog, creativity has never been more important to calm my anxious brain.

‘Cos it’s just *not* possible to feel 1 kind of emotion at a time… 🙃😅😵‍💫😞🥳

Am I right??? 👇🏻

When we first moved to Australia we experienced soooo many types of feelings.

So many in fact, that is was hard to know what the main feeling was!

It’s important to remember though, if you are going through a big life transition (even if it’s a good thing, on paper) it’s perfectly normal to feel frustrated AND excited… AND even guilty - all at the same time!!

Well, it’s safe to say we’ve been on *quite* the journey… 😅

When I stepped off the plane in Perth, Australia with my partner, pushing the buggy with our cranky 1 year old, lugging three suitcases with everything we brought to set up our new life…

…I felt a sense of relief, some excitement, but also fear too.

Because ultimately:

👶 I was still a mum to a 1 year old.

💻 I was still a business owner that needed to make it ‘work’ in a totally new country on the other side of the world

I was also thousands of miles away from everything familiar (approx. 6,000!) and my family back in the UK were still asleep 💤

What had we DONE??? ⬇️

We had emigrated to Australia from the UK after being *finally* granted our visa 6 months earlier. But the journey had started for us since 2018 and been a looong one (yay for pandemic delays and immigration law changes!)

Now, as new parents (not how we had envisioned the move originally!) we had left everything and everyone we knew behind, in search of a better life for our family.

And there wasn’t a roadmap for that 🗺️

But what was there? TONS of packing, life admin, organisation, travelling and bucketloads of anticipation for the move…

Not to mention, no job waiting for my partner! Or anywhere to live, for that matter 😅

It was certainly a time filled with uncertainty and a rollercoaster of emotions 🎢

That’s why I’ve decided to open up and share a bit more about this chapter…

And hopefully I can help you navigate big life changes just like this one - in the process of telling this story, whilst being honest about the feelings that came along with it and the realisations as we’ve since moved back to the UK.

What types of habits are *actually* effective on a daily basis? 🤔

We hear a lot about habits, but the truth is - there is no one size fits all!

And for me at the moment, with the childcare juggle, I have to be very intentional about the ones I stick to 💜

So my needs are quite specific…

They focus a lot on the basics! And quite a few of these are geared towards getting a good night’s sleep (including morning walk to reset circadian rhythm) 💤 and moving my body (not necessarily gym, just walking!) 🏃‍♀️

Which I know sounds super basic and obvious, but I KNOW that these 2 things help hugely with my mental health - which I try to protect at all costs.

Exercise and sleep are not always prioritised either, some don’t realise they are deficient in these areas - so awareness is key.

But anyway… this is just a starter for 10, there will be a part 2 with more! ✨

In 2023 I started my VA Business during the most unlikely of times… and it blows my mind.

After having my first daughter, 6 months into maternity leave my mind became restless.

I was starting to wonder what I would do after it ended!

The truth is, I knew that coaching wouldn’t *work* with lack of childcare and the necessity of 1:1 appointments.

So I explored another avenue - one that I had actually tried the previous year but my confidence was knocked after being ghosted a few times by potential clients and also 7 months pregnant at the time.

But I decided to give the Virtual Assistant business a go again - and it worked!

I simply took action and shared the idea from its bare bones on Facebook. People were interested 🤯

I don’t know what it was (maybe my new role as a Mum gave me that inner strength) but I had this new found determination that month - August 2023.

If you’d told me the year before that I’d achieve this with a new baby, I’m not sure I would have believed you!

And I’m experiencing the same feeling now… ⬇️

We are back in the UK with no childcare for 10 weeks until we move into our home again, and you know what?

I’m making it work 🙌

Have there been ups and downs? Yes! But it’s also been a time of again realising my inner strength…

So this is a reminder to you that if you’re doubting your capabilities this week (we all feel it!) remember that you 100% CAN 👌🏻 ✨💜

[Confession] I have felt a LOT of “comparisonitis” in recent months… 🤷🏼‍♀️

Let’s be real - when experiencing a big life change like emigrating to the other side of the world like we did, there is a huuuge amount of prep involved. This is time-consuming and demands a lot of mental energy!

The life admin towered over us like nothing I’ve ever experienced, and whilst I’m lucky that my business allows me to be flexible (my clients are also very understanding), I felt like I was falling “behind” a lot. 🙈

Despite reminding myself that this was just a short season of my life, the comparisonitis kept kicking in. Seeing how amazing everyone else was doing (or what appeared to be on social media) made it feel harder to accept in my mind.

Side note: Isn’t it funny how we constantly assume that what we see online is the full picture of people’s lives?? 🙄

But continuing on… 👇🏻

So my brain kept switching into comparisonitis mode, it automatically kept saying on repeat “Why aren’t YOU doing that?” or “You aren’t doing enough”.

Logically I knew why I wasn’t doing those things at this very moment in time… but our brains aren’t always logical (hello, illogical subconscious mind!) are they? 🧠

So today I just want to say this:

If you are going through a big life transition and have a lot of ‘stuff’ going on behind the scenes, feeling like you’re juggling everything - you are doing your absolute best right now! ✨

I GET it.

Also, make sure to prioritise your mental health and self-care where possible (exercise, nutrition, sleep, time for you), because during hectic times these can get pushed by the wayside if you’re not careful!! And you can be more prone to mindset struggles. 🚶🏼‍♀️💤 🥬
