❤ Make a commitment to yourself! You have to tell yourself that no matter what emotions come up, or what hard times you might endeavour, YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
⚖️ Basically it is about balance and you to be 100% committed to finding your balance.
🤯 Remind yourself that something is better than nothing.
⛅️ Perhaps a day gets busier than anticipated. Find a way to get even half an hour session during your day even if it means just walking.
🧠 If you get stuck thinking that you have failed when life doesn't go exactly as planned....FIND A WAY!!

⛅️ "Tomorrow never comes, it is always today" - Osho

😩 The picture on the left was taken in 2018 and the picture on the right was taken in 2021. As you can see that I managed to lose weight (30kg) and tone up at the same time.

🥅 But this post is not about what I achieved, it’s an example of how you as an individual can reflect on your own personal goals.

😊 A lot of individuals say “they want to lose weight” but find it difficult to follow through to the end target. Why?...

🌴 … It could stem from several things, but what is it that’s stopping you from achieving them?

Here’s something to consider … At what stage do you think you’re at (be honest):

🤯 Contemplation: You’re at that stage where you are thinking about change. You already at that mindset and you recognise that need for change.

💃 Preparation: You take that initial step to investigate how you can make yourself physically and mentally feel better.

💪 Achieving your body goals really stems from within. What you choose to do with your time and how you utilise it to the best of your ability is down to you.

🌻 The questions you need to ask yourself is, how important is it to you? What are you going to change to make it happen, and what will you do to ensure its sustainable?

🏋‍♀️ So, ask yourself this question... tomorrow, will I wake up an hour early to fit in my fitness goals? Or will I carry on as normal; putting it to the back of my mind thinking “I’ll do it tomorrow” ...

❤ DM me with your stage – together, we can make it happen!

🦴Why is mobility so important when it comes to training? It is one of the most overlooked aspects of exercise after a strenuous workout.

💪 Stretching tired and sore muscles after weight or any other training enhances flexibility and reduces tension after a workout.

🦵The benefits of stretching before and post workout is primarily to prevent injuries from occurring.

❤ The benefits of stretching, mobility and strengthening are:

• Increased Flexibility
• Improves blood circulation
• Eliminates Latic acid
• Pain prevention
• Improved range of Motion
• Increased Muscular Coordination.

🦛 Here I focus on Hip adductor muscles (Inner thighs), Lower back and strengthening hips with banded extensions.

👸“Maybe we can’t have the reality of living like a Queen, but we can certainly apply ourselves in going the distance, fit and well.”

🧠Don’t you think?

👧I am up for it, I had my daughter in my mid 30’s, and in some people’s view, was a little late in life. So, to keep up with my daughter, I have got to put the work in to stay fit and healthy and as strong as I possibly can be…

🚽Apart from not wanting to touch the seat in a public toilet, hence the reason why I do so many squats!! and training my daughter to do the same! It’s also to ensure that I can get up and down unaided as life goes on…

🧎‍♀️I want to make sure that my knees, hips, and ankles stay working so when I am reaching for something on the bottom shelf I don’t seize up and get stuck there!!!

🦴I don’t want to fall and have my bones break, which is the reason I do resistance training.

💪Don’t get me wrong I want to look good coming up to my mid 40’s, but I also want to be strong and fit…

Now and for the Future!

😄I know I can’t be like the young 20’s fitness influencer’s but surely I can be the best version of myself…

⚖Putting in the right kind of work will make a difference.

😫Mobility problems and lack of strength both come with age, that’s a fact, but that doesn’t mean we have to get complacent and let it happen, become weak and just be reliant on others.

🥘Lack of strength to get up and down is totally preventable with a little healthy living. Even if the changes are small, choosing what we eat to fuel our bodies, making an extra effort to cook freshly prepared meals, or even walking instead of using a car, will reap the rewards in the future.

🤔I think that if we embed such traits in our daily activities now and stick with it, there is a chance we could add at least another 10 years to our lives and enjoy those years to the maximum, without help using the bathroom!!!!!

❤If you are not 100% sure how to go about doing this all you got to do is, ask!!!

🤚Talking from first-hand experience!!!!

My favourite exercise is a cross between a lunge and a crunch…

I call it ‘Lunch’!!!🥙🦐

What type of relationship do you have with food? 👌

Do you see it as just an energy source?🌍

Do you just love healthy eating and can’t wait to try new foods and restaurants? (that’s me!)🍳🥘

Are you someone who binge eats? 🍫🍬

Or do you question what nutritional benefits that food source is going to provide, such as minerals and vitamins?💊

What are the key benefits to eating healthy?

HEART HEALTH - Certain foods people eat can reduce blood pressure and keep their heart healthy❤

REDUCE CANCER RISK - Certain foods that contain antioxidants can reduce a person’s risk of developing cancer by protecting cells from damage.🎀

BETTER MOOD - Diets with High Glycemic Index can increase fatigue such as soft drinks, cakes, white bread, biscuits.🥖🍡

IMPROVED GUT HEALTH.😊

As the caption says: ‘Exercise is the King... Nutrition is the Queen. Put them together you’ve got a Kingdom'.🤴👸

“Everybody has to start somewhere”

I’ve shared my personal journey previously and what I have achieved so far, but to my fellow friends and followers who are new, or to those who need a little inspiration, here’s my account of my own journey, and how I achieved my own transformation.

One of the most and vital things at the beginning of this process is mind-set. It is you and only you who wants to make a change and the reason, what-ever that reason is, is that you are ready and want to do this for yourself. Honestly, having that mind-set is so important. Life confronts us with so many choices, and its about making the right choice for the betterment of you and how you feel about your body.

The majority of women after childbirth (including myself), do not know how or when to start; and there are other compounding elements that have a bearing on this. Time with your new-born being one, the responsibilities that it comes with, as well as the lack of your own nutrition and sleep!

Why did I decide to make the change? The picture below was probably at my heaviest at 80Kg having had my daughter who was probably around 3 months of when this picture was taken. Every time I looked at myself, I really was not content. I tried so many times to lose weight, through quick fixes such as fad diets and cardio but felt this wasn’t going to be sustainable as part of my daily routine and going forward.

The most important aspect for which I can not stress enough, is educating yourself about nutrition as well as exercise. Having a good Personal Trainer, which I had at the time, really opened my mind about training and nutrition and the importance of an effective and sustainable balance between the two. It has taken 2 and a half years to reach my goal, weighing now at 51 kg. I am not saying that I am completely satisfied about how I look, as naturally there are other areas that I also, am focussing on, but I wanted to share my journey, and how I achieved it having gone on to qualify as a certified Personal Trainer with the intention to help and empower others achieve their goals through my own experiences, and tailor-made body programmes.

So, here’s my 5 quick tips to you on starting your training regime:

1. Be patient - every inch of progress makes you stronger, and
more determined.
2. You WILL achieve your results with the right mind-set.
3. Be consistent - wake up early every day, and choose what makes
you happy, set yourself targets and achieve them.
4. Challenge yourself and keep pushing yourself to achieve further.
5. Remain disciplined. Throughout your regime stay focussed on
your nutritional needs, as well as your body. Make the right
choices to eat healthier, rather than those ‘empty’ calories.
