Tournament day today seen our rebuild continue, great effort from the lads considering only played couple games together. We finished 2nd in the group making it to the main cup semi final, unfortunately it wasn’t our day as we lost to the eventual winners.
We grew into the tournament with plenty of positives to take away 💪🏻
Well done lads 💙🤍⚽️

Fantastic performance from the lads yesterday 💪🏻🔵⚪️

A dominant display from start to finish, controlling the game throughout, playing some excellent football and scoring some great goals along the way.

Joel was once again in top form, producing quality saves to keep his clean sheet. Video footage suggests his best stop was a brilliant save with the toe 🧤
Layton led the scoring with a superb hat-trick, including a stunning long-range free-kick.
Ben got us up and running with the opening goal, cutting in from the right and beating the keeper at the near post.
Lewis capped off the best move of the match with a classy finish swept in passed the keeper.
Daryl was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, firing just over the bar after showing great energy and pressing throughout.
Enzo linked the play brilliantly and was unfortunate not to grab a goal himself.
Harrison defended excellently, well supported by the lads in front of him, he had a good effort early in the match which the keeper made a great save.
A complete team performance and another well-deserved result.

📣⚽️ Yesterday seen the lads back in league action against another top side.

We were missing Layton this weekend as he was away with his Sunday side at a tournament, and everyone at Moor wishing him the best of luck.

The game started fairly tight in the opening five minutes, but Moor were creating the better chances through Ben and Enzo. Despite the bright start, our opponents took the lead after around seven minutes.

The response was excellent. Around 10 minutes later, Enzo’s brilliant pressing high up the pitch won the ball back, allowing Ben to fire home a superb finish to level the game at 1-1.

From there, Moor really took control, playing some excellent football and creating further opportunities through Lewis and Harrison. At the other end, Joel produced a fantastic save low down to his right to tip a dangerous effort around the post and keep things level going into half time.

Half Time: 1-1

We flew out of the blocks in the second half and deservedly took the lead when Ben grabbed his second of the game with another fantastic finish.

Daryl then had a couple of opportunities, including an ambitious effort from range after we broke quickly from an opposition corner, unlucky not to find the target with the keeper off his line.

Moor continued to push forward, creating chances and limiting the opposition to very little, with Joel largely untroubled in goal. However, the visitors managed to catch us on the counter attack to make it 2-2.

The game looked set to finish level until three minutes from time when Harrison played a long ball forward which fell perfectly to Lewis. He took it out of his feet and smashed it past the keeper to make it 3-2 to Moor.

We held on to secure all three points after a superb team performance full of quality and hard work.

Man of the Match: Ben – a fantastic performance topped off with two excellent goals.

The Moor boys were back in action after a week off and the lads didn’t disappoint as the put in a brilliant performance to beat their opponents 8-3 after a tight score first half ended 1-1 however our control deserved far more.
This write up probably does the lads a disservice because so much more happened in the game with some top top stuff from everyone of them.

Moor started brightly but went 1-0 down early on. The team kept battling though and got themselves level before half time through Layton, who showed excellent skill and determination throughout the game. His quick feet and confidence to take on one, two and even three players caused problems all match long.

At the other end, Joel made two key saves in the first half to keep Moor in the game and followed that up with more excellent saves after the break.

Ben worked tirelessly from the front in the first half, pressing defenders and creating pressure high up the pitch. He was very unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet.

Lewis had a strong game, working hard both defensively and going forward. He showed lovely feet on the ball and created two or three good chances for the team.

The second half saw Moor really take control. Harrison was solid at the back and made his mark going forward with a brilliant long-range free kick that looped perfectly over the wall and the goalkeeper. He added another goal later in the game.

Layton continued his superb form in front of goal, scoring five goals in total using both feet and showing quality all over the pitch.

Enzo came on in the second half and made a big impact. After being unlucky with his first chance, he timed his run perfectly onto a great through ball from Harrison and calmly finished to score.

Daryl impressed after coming on, continuing his recent good form with excellent work rate and skill on the ball. He was unlucky not to score himself after being denied by a very good save from the keeper.

After going into half time level at 1-1, Moor came flying out in the second half, scoring three goals before the opposition pulled one back. Moor then scored another three before conceding again, before Layton finished the game in style with his fifth goal to complete the 8-3 win.

📣⚽️ Back in spring cup action this morning against a side we drew 4-4 with back in the league so the lads were ready for the fight.
Our lads had very different ideas though after the first 5 minutes which was fairly even we got a corner which Ben delivered a lovely ball bounced around before Harrison turned on it smashing it in the corner 1-0 Moor.
From there we took control and didn’t have to wait to long before a through ball from Harrison found Daryl who let the ball come across his body outside the box he fired a fantastic strike across the keeper into the corner 2-0.
Daryl playing through the middle today considering he’s playing a year up showed a load of heart as he pressed from the front on every occasion.
The lads were pressing excellent creating loads of chances with both Layton and Ben coming close however half time we went in 2-0 up.
Second half we introduced both Lewis and Enzo, Lewis looking to pick up from his MOTM performance last week which he certainly did playing with loads of confidence and Enzo looking for his first competitive goals.
Again we didn’t have to wait long as a ball over the top from Harrison found Enzo who showed great composure to fire past the keeper to get his first 3-0 Moor.
Joel showed great hands, kicking was on point and sweeper keeper skills to keep our opponents out in what was a quiet game for him.
We had some defending to do from a corner which bounced around before Layton picked the ball up dribbling past a couple of players for sliding the ball through to Enzo who again as cool as you like slid it past the keeper 4-0.
Lewis the won us a freekick after some lovely skill to get passed his player before been dragged down, he stepped up to take the freekick which he smashed forward looking to get himself on the scoresheet however the defender got in the way which then dropped to Harrison who managed to ride a couple of tackles before prodding his second of the day past the keeper 5-0.
Ben then took the place of Harrison at the back and it wasn’t long before he was called into action as our opponents pushed on he made a couple of quick blocks/tackles
Layton forever in the wars today getting dragged down at every opportunity showed his resilience after the bar and the post denying him earlier, he then won another free kick which he dusted himself down to hit a perfect effort past the keeper 6-0.
With his tail firmly in the air it wasn’t long before Ben found Lewis who switched to Layton who cut inside beating his player before firing a raker over the keeper to complete our scoring 7-0.
Fair play to our opponents they kept going and when Ben found himself 3v1 on the counter there wasn’t much he could do as they slid in the striker who slot it into the corner 7-1 Moor.
Probably one of our most complete performances as a team today, of course the lads love to score goals but the football and work rate today was excellent to watch.
POTM’s… FULL TEAM 🔵⚪️🥇
Well done lads 👏🏻😮‍💨⚽️

📣Today seen the lads back fresh after a week off from league action looking to get our spring cup run going and they didn’t disappoint.
We faced a team who similarly to us had only one defeat last season, so always had the makings of a great game.
It was fairly back and forwards to start off with, Ben pressing excellent from the front backed up by Harrison, Lewis and Layton in behind before we took it by the scruff of the neck when Layton danced down the line past one before the defender made a block to put it out for a corner, Layton stepped up to take the corner and swung in a curling ball which beat everyone including the keeper 1-0 Moor.
We continued to push with attempts most notable from Layton with a couple one of which just hit the side netting, Lewis with a good freekick which just went over and Harrison with a driven shot which their defender made an excellent block.
We then had a dribble in which Harrison played quick ball down the line to Lewis who flicked the ball with the outside of his foot through the defenders legs which Layton burst onto the end of with the best finish of the game as he beat the keeper and lifted it past him to get his second of the day 2-0 Moor.
Our opponents then kicked into gear creating some good chances which Joel was equal to with some excellent saves to take us in at the break 2-0.
Second half again we came flying out the blocks with the introduction of Daryl and a first competitive fixture for Enzo who settled into the game really well.
The game was more open with chances at both ends but Joel still keeping them out until our opponents got a freekick on the right hand side of our box, they hit a power shot which Joel had no chance of stopping 2-1 Moor.
Ben then showed great feet trying to create some space for a shot however it got block before being fired across the box for Daryl who was filling in through the middle found himself on the end to get a well deserved goal 3-1.
We kept pushing to create chances before we got another corner which Layton stepped up and delivered an identical one to the first half directly from a corner to complete his hattrick… that’s 4 possibly 5 goals direct from a corner for him this year so no fluke 😮‍💨 4-1 Moor.
We made some changes with 5 minutes to go just as our opponents stepped up playing some really good football especially with their 1-2’s and they gave themselves a glimmer as they found themselves through on goal slotting home 4-2 Moor.
We managed to keep them out with some great defending from Ben, Lewis and Daryl along with pressing from the front from Enzo with a minute on the clock our opponents managed to create some space before another good finish 4-3 Moor.
The lads then showed their character as they put their bodies on the line to ensure we took home the 3 points 💪🏻
The game finished 4-3 which looks a lot closer than it should’ve been but take nothing away from the lads they were excellent from start to finish in what was a real team performance, hats off to each and everyone of them 🤩
Today’s player of the match went to Lewis, his all round game today was fantastic whether that be going forward, defending or passing 🥇

📣 Today seen the lads back in action ahead of our final league match before the Spring Cup.
The game started with us on the front foot but for some excellent saves from their keeper.
Around 5 minutes in we made the breakthrough when Layton drove down the right and putting the ball in the box which landed to Harrison who made no mistake 1-0 Moor.
Joel showed some great handling with a couple of really tricky efforts 🧤
A couple minutes later Daryl found himself pinned into the corner before he managed to find a lovely pass to Lewis who made a fantastic run from defence before he cut in and smashed it passed the keeper 2-0 Moor.
We had plenty of chances to extend the lead through with chances from Layton before Harrison got his second of the game when he went 1 on 1 with the keeper before finding the corner 3-0 Moor.
We then had a 5 minute spell where our opponents looked like they were going to get back in it with a quick fire double 3-2 Moor and half time.
After half time we seemed to go up another gear with Lewis dancing down the line passed a couple of players before his cross was blocked.
Chances from Layton and Daryl but again some great goalkeeping kept us at bay.
We then got a corner which we were unlucky to not score from but fell to Ben who was waiting for the ball to come out, struck it first time from outside the box which rocketed in off the post 4-2 Moor.
Lewis had another chance from just outside the box similar to one a couple weeks back but just couldn’t find the target.
Layton was still looking for what would be a well deserved goal with 1 minute to go showed some excellent feet as he jinxed between two players before the 3rd brought him down in an great position, he stepped up himself in what seemed to take ages for the ref to allow it to be took however that didn’t faze him as he hit a perfect strike which flew top corner 5-2 Moor.
This is how we finished, another top performance from all the lads 👏🏻
MOTM’s today went to Harrison & Layton 🌟
Team photo missing Joel as he had to dash off to his bros match ⚽️
