First Team Manager Required

Sadly, due to personal circumstances. John Telford has stepped down from the role of first team manager for Stanion United FC.

The committee would like to thank John for his support last season and his dedication through pre season along with Greg Wenham and the focus and effort put in at the start of this season. Best wishes for the future gents.

We currently have players who are willing to remain with the club and support the new management team and with Andrew Burr shaping the reserve team the club are in a stronger position than they have been for many years.

The race night has been moved to the 26th of November 2016 @ Stanion village hall.

Please come down and support local football.

Match. Report from John Telford

" we started the match well by taking an early lead through a great go over the keeper by Brian Farrell . We then lost a goal to west haddon from a lack of communication from the defence and the keeper. We went in at half time drawing 1-1 . The second half was all about how good stanion are as a footballing team with sheff breaking into the box only to be taken down by the defend and Brian Farrell slotting home the resulting penalty . We dominated for the next ten minutes then came the third through some great play from Brian Farell down the left then crossing in a great ball for Andy Wilson to cap of a man of the match performance with a net busting volley . Great result we look forward to the cup next week "

Well what a great day for the club with both first team and reserves both picking up 3 points against west haddon .

The first team were away to west haddon and put in a great performance and showed great attitude and quality to walk away with a 3-1 victory

John Telford is over the moon with his teams attitude today and looks forward to next weeks game

The reserves carried on there great start with an outstanding 5-0 victory .

Andrew burr would like to thank the reserves for there efforts and attitude in the game .

Well the final pre season friendlies for the first team and reserves are over and both teams picked up victories down at the stanion ground with limited squads due to work and other commitments from our players .

The first team kicked the day off with a 1-0 win against medbourne with and outstanding display off football . The goal being scored by dean Clarke .

Then the reserves picked up a great 4-0 victory over Northampton Falcons with another outstanding performance down at the stanion ground . Goals from dean Clarke , Sean McClellan , Stephen Deegan and Bobby Chalmers .

Both John Telford and Andrew burr were very happy with the performances of there respected teams.
