Nice little friendly this morning against Leigh Ramblers Red as we slowly wind down a good season. We were missing our walking wounded Bodhi and Lennon. Jake was away celebrating his sisters birthday. So thank you to Sonny H and Seb for playing with the boys and helping out. Both put in a good shift and a massive well done to Seb for being voted parents player, thoroughly deserved! Managers player went to Tommy R, as ever, he just does what he does week in week out. Some good positives to take away from today despite the loss, it was a good tight game for the most part. Thanks as always parents and grandparents for your support.

Today was a good day! On the first anniversary of the very sad passing of our club president George who was our dear friend, dad of our parent John and grandad of our Joey, it was fitting that the boys got something today for him by winning the plate trophy. The boys were solid in most of the games and started to step it up in the last few games of our home tournament. They won the final on penalties, I hate them and hate seeing someone have to lose, we’ve suffered that a few times, so it was good to get a win.

It was brilliant to see the football being played in a very friendly atmosphere with some superb skills on show. A super day all round and what grassroots football is all about.

Congratulations to our good friends at Perry Street Black for winning the cup.

2 finals, both going to penalties and a good day all round.

Friendlies are the theme of the day now when we are between tournaments and we had a quality game against our good friends on and off the pitch at Tilbury Scorpions this morning. A very good game of football from both teams, a tight first half that we just shaded and then stepped up the performance in the second half and got the rewards. Good all round play from all of our boys at times against good opposition .

Parents player of the match went to Brandon, he was back to his best today and fully deserved the plaudits! 2 great goals, one a superb finish and another from just a sheer will to win the ball.

Managers player was Lewis. Clean sheet and some quality saves to keep out some good shots from the Tilbury boys. He was brave with his diving and good with his feet.

Special mention as well to Bodhi. Despite being injured and in a moon boot and on a crutch, he still turned up in kit to support the boys. That’s there epitomises team spirit! 👏👏

An enjoyable day ☀️🍻 but not the outcome we wanted yesterday at the Concord tournament. Got through the group stages and lost a tight QF game to St Cleres Lions. Well done to them. Very good team! An end to end game and on another day we take our chances and score. I’m

What a way for our boys to end the league season!! A superb performance, particularly that 2nd half where we did exactly as I asked and started to work harder. I told the boys that if they put the extra grit in, then we would win and we did what we needed to do. Strong performances once again across all positions making it so difficult for parents and managers alike to pick out 1!Once again we prove that we are a hard team to beat!

Leigh Ramblers Red were super today and strong
across the pitch. A proper great game of football from them and us and we wish them well as tournament season rolls around.

Joey harassed Matt to be captain today but it worked, he put in a good shift and and what a lovely assist!! Well deserved managers player of the match. I told Bodhi when he came off first time that when he goes back on he’ll score, he did and was solid again, deserving parents player of the match.

Bosh!!

What a superb game of football today from both ourselves and our good friends at Tilbury Scorpions!! 2 teams playing a great game of football, supported by good parents and all played in a great spirit. Pleased that our boys got what I believe to be the right result today. Grafted hard and just got it over the line in a very tight game. Some super stuff shown, good saves from our captain for the day, Lewis, last ditch defending, midfield battles, through balls and great finishing; all leading to a good day. Half time oranges couretesy of the Duchess which always go down a treat.

Well done to Lennon and Noah today in being parents and managers players of the match. Solid graft from them both and strong physical performances . Onto our last league game next week and a celebration of the boys hard work with pizza and beer ( for the adults 😉 ) afterwards. Proud every week of these boys.
